How did the NHS get captured like this? This is not an isolated incident and I know from doctor and nurse friends that the same dangerous lunacy would be applauded and upheld in their trusts too (they are mostly captured themselves and would support it).

If you read the comments under the article, the overwhelming majority of them are supportive of Karen, and the most supportive comments have been "upvoted" hundreds of times. It's quite obvious that ordinary, decent people have no truck with this vile ideology that forces sexually abused women to undress in front of males who have inserted themselves in a female changing room.

This ideology is being pushed by a few deranged misogynists and their handmaiden allies, who have ended up running NHS trusts, universities, police forces, schools and the like. (Plus the handful of women-haters who post on Reddit forums and occasionally pop up on here peddling their disgusting views.) It's not something that normal people support, but unfortunately normal people don't have the power to do anything about it.

Is there anything we can do to support the Darlington nurses, Karen in particular? I was one of many who sent a card of support to Sandie Peggie. I'd love to do the same for Karen, if anyone knows the best address (eg whether it's the hospital, her lawyers or somewhere else).

There are so many articulate posts and voices on here that I feel like I'm filling up the thread with a meaningless plop with this post. But I am so fucking angry and despairing.

Just read this thread. Just when we thought it couldn’t get worse. Utterly appalled by the Trusts actions and their treatment of Karen. Why does one person's feelings trump another person's access to medical care? Surely they are neither relatable nor comparable. What a horror story that probably shocks, but doesn't surprise any of us born with a vagina.

I hope the tide starts turning on these public bodies with the recent high profile cases, with all credit to those women who have put their careers and reputations on the line to help the rest of us fight back.

I work in the public sector too and those of us at the bottom of the tree, including most junior level management are all secretly supportive of Sandi, Karen and JKR etc, but wouldn't dare say it loud enough for the upper management to hear, because the fear of being singled out is real. It is a sad state of affairs that we have been silenced on our own human rights as a female to pacify those whose pretence has gifted them the few rights that was just ours, and didn't we have to fight hard enough for them too, eh.

I read this DM carefully, they mention Rose in relationship with a woman (haha whatever that means!) and they are trying for a baby. Are we supposed to think that is why Rose has penis & testicles … is that the excuse for Rose still being a man? (If Rose so unhappy being a man, do IVF with frozen sperm and transition asap !!) In McDonalds today I saw a man in a dress walking into the woman's toilets. I wasn't going to be the one to cause a scene, but if my 9 year old DD had been in there at the time, I would have followed him in. I'd be risking my career if labelled as a transphobic bigot, and most of us just aren't in a position to be able to do that.
