This isn't the first time this has happened is it? I expect IMHO there will be more cases like this happening given the current obsession with trans people and how masculine or feminine people look.

https://www.msn.com/en-nz/news/other/same-sex-couple-demands-answers-after-hotel-security-threw-one-out-of-bathroom-thinking-she-was-a-man/ar-AA1Eh00e

"A woman and her girlfriend were thrown out of a luxurious five-star hotel after a security guard allegedly accused her of being a man using a female bathroom.
Ansley Baker and her partner, Liz Victor, were at the Liberty Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, attending a Kentucky Derby party on Saturday.

The couple was using the women’s restroom in the foyer when they heard a bang on the stall doors, they told CBS News Boston.
Baker said she was in one of the stalls as Victor waited around the corner near the sinks. The hotel says that security was alerted by several women that the couple was sharing a single stall. Baker and Victor deny being in the same stall.
The male security guard allegedly began urging Baker, who was born a woman and identifies as a woman, to get out of the bathroom and accused her of being a man
“All of a sudden there was banging on the door,” Baker told the local news station. “I pulled my shorts up. I hadn't even tied them. One of the security guards was there telling me to get out of the bathroom, that I was a man in the women's bathroom. I said, ‘I'm a woman.’”"

Well you could look at the best performing countries in the world for women in the major international surveys eg Women, Peace and Security Index, and The Global Gender Gap Report. Then you would see that, for both, 8 of 10 of the best places in the world to be a woman also, according to you and to Mumsnet FWR, apparently don't know what a woman is (have policies of gender self ID)

You tried this argument before, and it was carefully picked apart before. If anyone has the stomach for it, it's on this thread: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5302114-trump-team-to-stop-family-planning-funding-as-it-reviews-whether-its-being-used-for-dei-programs?page=18

Could you link to the published data because these graphs tell you bugger all.

No, not because it doesn't fit in with waffle waffle but because it is corrupted data.

Catch yourself on 😂.

I suppose your myopic obsession has you magically thinking 20 or 30 % of people with 'M' on their passports are putting themselves down as F on random surveys for shits and giggles? 😂

Newsflash for you, unlike FWR, the majority of citizens in the countries at the top of those tables are pretty sensible sorts (understandably so, given they are the best countries in the world for women) and are not prone to the sorts of activities that FWR regulars spend their evenings imagining in their fixated and distressed imaginations.

Not doing your homework for you.

Simply look up any major indices looking at the wellbeing / equality of women internationally, then generate a list of the top performing countries .Then cross check against countries with policies of gender self-ID, and you will see that policies of self ID are clearly no barrier whatsoever to a country being the best in the world for women to live in.

You know the majority of the population of 10 different countries, and how they choose to spend their free time? Gosh, you must be extremely busy keeping up your correspondence with all those people, it's a wonder you find the time to come here and scold us. How do you fit it all in?

Igneococcus · 07/05/2025 22:14

No, this is not how this works. If you make a claim supposedly based on data you show a link to the data. If you don't I assume you talk bollocks.

You are the one asking GC women to do the TRAs' homework. It's the group who wants a change in law who has to provide the reasons why this change would be good for society, or at least not detrimental.

I have been verbally and sexually harassed and kicked out of changing rooms in my youth, stared at with daggers by women in toilets since then. Bisexual and very masculine woman here, though masculine body (and hairy due to PCOS Bald now to boot!) and butch (but colourful!) fashion choices. Never been 'questioned', thankfully.
If this ends up with people questioning me or approaching me, however politely, I will reply:

'None of your business'
'Leave me alone'
'I don't have to prove anything to you'
Or simply, 'Fuck off!

I'm not going to be polite to an impolite question. I would suggest all other women in the same boat do the same, as scary as it may be.

You would have to Mumsnet why they have displayed with poor resolution, that's outwith my control, resolution on my screenshots is fine. The data is accurate.

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 07/05/2025 18:53

I don’t have long hair and I rarely wear skirts, does that make me unfeminine?

No of course not.

My point was, that most transwomen, (men) want to 'dress up' as what we'd perceive as feminine. In order to not possibly risk looking like a man. Wheareas you and I would have shorter hair and wear jeans and a T shirt and still look like a woman because, well, we are, a transwoman usually would not. because they usually sustain an adam's apple, larger build, depending on their 'stage' (if they've even got so far!), masculine features not associated with female chromosomes. So they DO wear skirts, dresses, heels etc.

My partners have all been masculine presenting women. Transwomen do not look like that. In the thread I mentioned and linked, many posters were accusing me of dating a transwoman and therefore wanting to take a man into a female-only space. It simply was not true, which is what I found upsetting. I am all for women in women's spaces regardless of if they look like Barbie or Big Boo from OITNB. They're women. I do not want men, using the same metaphorical descriptions, in them, and being accused of being such was unnecessary, inflammatory, and totally misguided.

No. You catch yourself on, whatever the fuck that means.

You know about as much about the majority of citizens in various countries as you do about the women on this board.

It was a chat gp question I set (and verified) a few days ago and took a screenshot of. Like I said, it is easy for you to independently generate and replicate the same findings.

Igneococcus · 07/05/2025 22:32

Can you link to the data that is used to generate these graphs because they don't tell you what any of that means. What are they actually measuring and how? Can you link to the original publication with full data sets and methodology?
Take your time because I'm going to bed.

I'd let suggestions crack on with their derail.

It's all irrelevant- just as the failed guilt trip is from the absent OP.

Meanwhile the SC judgment is clear and unequivocal - and the transactivists continue to throw their toys and graphs out of their prams 😂

A very cursory look told me that in Denmark, the first of the countries in your first graph, they put dangerous trans women in men's prisons. So you're right, the UK should totally do that!
