David Tennant graciously wishes accomplished presumed uterus haver no ill will

“JK Rowling is a wonderful author who’s created brilliant stories, and I wish her no ill will, but I hope that we can all as a society, just let people be. Just get out of people’s way.” So reckons kind and gracious David Tennant. Anyone else reading between the lines here and coming up with something like ‘women just need to stick to writing lovely stories for men to build their careers on, whilst also remembering about the cooking, cleaning and washing instead of drinking cocktails and smoking cigars, and they should just let men do whatever they want, and get out of their way and if they do this then they are most welcome to continue to exist as ideas in men’s heads and in common parlance as non-men, uterus havers, menstruating people and ideally, gestating people’ ?

What absolute nonsense.

Not really.

David Tennant has every right to his beliefs and his opinions, I don’t agree with him and yes I do judge him for transing his child publicly at 10 years old. Whatever the rights and wrongs of that I judge anybody who uses their child for their own publicity. JKR has a right to reply whether she will or not is up to her. I may be wrong but I have only seen her respond to people who have personally used an attack on her to get themselves headlines. There was no need for DT to say anything about her full stop.

Any parent, who’s helped ‘trans their child’ undoubtedly due to horrific pressure from now discredited groups like GIDS and Stonewall, is in such a distressing place.

They’ve agreed with and told their child yes yes you can change sex. Dead daughter or live son bullshit. For years. And now, it’s hard to turn back. They’re digging in and attacking those who question.

DT is a prime example. It’s all so sad, such a catastrophic scandal with many victims.

What absolute nonsense.

What part? The one where JKR has been subjected to an avalanche of rape and death threat? The part where DT told women to shut up and go away? Or the part where he wore a T shirt?

To be fair all of the celebs are doing game shows. They must be being paid a Lot to do so. cheap tv as far as tv people are concerned. No expense necessary, apart from paying the bellend presenter.

Hopefully no one will watch any of them.

Even mr woman hater himself Stephen fry is doing a game show 🤮🤮

Michael McIntyre has a good one - he invented and franchised it so earning gazillions. But I think.. I think he’s ok.

God, him singing 500 miles was wincingly cringy for anyone who's Scottish. He might as well have sung 'Donald Whaurs Yer Troosers' while frizbeeing slices of black pudding at the audience.

While wearing a See You Jimmy hat and carrying a haggis cuddly toy.

Enough4me · 27/04/2025 20:41

I wonder why he doesn't seek help for his child?
Saying you are part of an ideological group to your parent should ring alarm bells. It's as bad as thinking you need to not eat, or underage addiction.
Why is his child not happy with who they are?

"Get out of the way of males who claim to be women on the basis of no evidence whatsoever and shove their way into women's spaces, awards, jobs and sports, often harming women in the process. Just let them be. They matter more than you."

Yep. Helen Joyce nailed it.

"Something that you may not have thought of is that there's a lot of people who can't move on on this. And because that's the people who've transitioned their own children.

So those people are going to be like you know the Japanese soldiers who were on Pacific Islands and didn't know the war was over. They've got to fight forever.

[...]A lot of people have done the worst thing that you could do. Which is to harm their children irrevocably because of it. Those people will have to believe that they did the right thing for the rest of their lives, for their own sanity, and for their own self-respect. So they'll still be fighting."

To be fair, it's very hard when you have a son who likes "girl" clothes. The pressure on you to conform to them being trained is unbelievable. Even for out family who live normal lives.
We were lucky we had this site to counteract that.

David Tennant will be absolutely surrounded by it, especially in the media world.

He really didn’t need to be so obnoxious, though. He’s obviously decided to soft pedal it a bit now, which can only be a reaction to how the wind is blowing.

Someone needs to give the TRAs some lessons on PR. Same for Just Stop Oil (whose aims, in contrast, I do support). If you are convinced of the rightness of your cause, it’s just stupid to alienate the audience further by being rude and aggressive.

TRAs will not listen to anyone, even PR people. You've seen them In court, if they won't listen to their legal representative they won't listen to anyone.

Oh I know. I do wonder why, though.

I mean, I know why the AGPs are so irrational, and why they dominate, but you’d think some of the others - the confused gender queer brigade - would stop and think.

I think it’s the psychology of when you know you’re wrong, but cannot admit it under any circumstances. They’ve never thought men were women and vice versa. It’s always been a sham. They know the truth. That’s why the shutdown, aggression and - stonewalling - when asked questions about it. It’s a sort of DARVO if you like.

Embarrassing at best, horrific for these poor people who have mutilated themselves. Especially the children who’ve been caught up in this, who’ve been harmed by adults. Child abuse by another name.

Whatever the perceived pressure and whatever professional environment you exist in, a good parent would stop and think and consider the issue because it’s about their CHILD.

I agree with the PPs who have drawn a parallel with another mental health issue that teenagers can suffer from: anorexia. You wouldn’t affirm your child in their delusions that they’re obese and agree to stop preparing food for them, so why would you affirm the GI delusion that you’ve been born in the wrong body and can change sex?

Not to mention the parents who were happy for their child to take puberty blockers and took their children to have parts of their bodies removed: breasts, penises… This has been child neglect and abuse on a monstrous scale. I hope we see the ringleaders brought to account in a public inquiry in the future. I hope we see heads roll.

BottleBlondeMachiavelli · 28/04/2025 08:07

You’re probably right @RipleyJones, and of course most of them are male, behaving like men who have been socialised as men and expect to get their demands met.

Most sad for the castrated and mutilated children though, as you say.

I couldn't resist having a look and ouch...

As dull as a GCSE maths exam, reviewer left pining for an episode of The Chase, Ant & Dec or even Stephen Mullherne and compared to Mitchell and Webb's (albeit epic) spoof show NumberWang.

Couldn't happen to a nicer fella.

Why do some (male) actors think that they are some sort of Oracle? Pronouncing on social and cultural issues with some sort of perceived expertise because they played a part in a popular tv show? Unbelievable.

It's bizarre, isn't it? Sure, the bloke's acted well in a number of things. He has expertise there. And that's it.
