Trump re trans issues / Tate brothers

Mittens67 · 28/02/2025 10:43

I have read many threads both before and after the US election where posters are so pleased that Trump does not support the trans agenda. Some also saying that this was the most important issue which would and did influence their vote in the UK election.
Do you still feel the same now? Trump has shown his contempt for women throughout his life and career. Now he has bullied Romania into lifting the travel ban on the Tates and flown them into Florida ready to abuse more women and radicalise a new generation of misogynists and rapists.
Any buyer’s remorse?

I confirm that I still know that mammals cannot change sex, that sex-based rights are important, that medicine should be evidence-based and laws should be reality-based.

I think the "buyer's remorse" question should be directed at the Democrats who guzzled down gender-woo Koolaid and thought that giving Dylan Mulvaney a prize for cosplaying was a vote-winner.

nauticant · 28/02/2025 10:49

I'm still against the sterilisation of children. Trump might be too but that doesn't matter to me.

MarsScarlet · 28/02/2025 10:55

You won't get any joy here - just the usual 'ask the Democrats - it's their fault' etc. It's as if everyone who voted for Trump had a lack of agency.

TinselAngel · 28/02/2025 10:56

Any buyer’s remorse?

I think you should ask this to American voters given the majority of women here won't have had a vote in the US election so didn't "buy" anything.

MrsLeonFarrell · 28/02/2025 10:57

The outcome of the US election was about the economy not trans rights. Trump got headlines but there isn't a lot of evidence that his position got him votes from people who would have otherwise voted Democrat.

HermioneWeasley · 28/02/2025 10:59

I don’t understand why you’re asking people on a UK site to justify voting for trump. Very few if any MNetters will have voted in the US election.

@Beowulfa has all bases covered. Seconded.

And yet again for some EVERYTHING must come back to FOCUS ON THE TRANS!! The trans are the biggest victim in this! Main character syndrome ahoy! As the first post nails it...I confirm that I still know that mammals cannot change sex, that sex-based rights are important, that medicine should be evidence-based and laws should be reality-based.

We don't do toddler level politics on here. Most women are politically sophisticated enough to recognise Trump's countless faults while being relieved that he's done what the sainted Democrats failed to do - safeguarded children from trying to change sex, protected women's sport and a number of other EOs that promote facts and reality.

frenchnoodle · 28/02/2025 11:04

Trump getting voted in is nothing to do with women in the UK is it?

But yes, to answer the question it still hasn't changed my opinion that the total affirmation model is damaging.

MalagaNights · 28/02/2025 11:04

By this logic I presume you support everything Ron Desantis does because he's said they are not welcome in Florida and is looking at how to get them out.

Why do you support banning abortion?

This.

Also I'm not American, as isn't nearly everyone who will read this, so not quite sure what you think I bought or when.

As with Labour, though, it wasn't on women who recognise reality to hold their noses, do their duty and vote Democrat: it was on the Democrats to stop being shit, useless and dangerous on women's rights and child safeguarding.

They didn't, and now we're stuck with the orange man. What happens next time it's up to them so go castigate them, maybe?

Realityisreal · 28/02/2025 11:06

@Mittens67 Perhaps you could give further details about how, as a UK citizen, my knowledge that humans can't change sex, has led to Trump being elected in the US, as opposed to the Democrats inability to understand that humans can't change sex just by putting on lippy and insisting that everyone join them in their delusion?

Hoppinggreen · 28/02/2025 11:07

Well as I didn't vote for him (not in US) I can't say I have buyers remorse BUT I would say that just because Trump is doing something I DO agree with for reasons I DON'T agree with doesn't mean I am a supporter.
Tate is utter scum but not releated to any Trans issues as far as I know, in fact he probably has less of a problem with Transwomen than actual women as they are men in biological terms.
Many Transwomen aren't fond of women so they all have that in common I suppose

Bloom15 · 28/02/2025 11:16

I am GC but wouldn't have voted for Trump (I am a British citizen). I am very left leaning politically- I didn't realise these were mutually exclusive things

If you want to understand it, it's the current form of progressive thinking that means there's a set of approved beliefs and you have to accept all of them, unquestioningly, and not hold any others that might be in conflict.

Any vote cast in the UK has no influence on the US or their elections. If the Romanian authorities have allowed Trump to influence them about Tate, which incidentally, they deny, then again, that has no connection to how people voted in our elections in the UK.

I would also point out that the Tate brothers have dual US/UK citizenship so if the US want them, let them go there.

You seem to be tying yourself in knots in a tortuous attempt to blame people in the UK, who voted differently to you, for the policies of Trump. Any policies that he puts in place are only to further his own agenda, he doesn’t care about women, or poor people, or anyone except himself. I think you underestimate the intelligence of the GC women on here if you think we don’t already know that.

JazzyJelly · 28/02/2025 11:24

Trump didn't stand in my constituency.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 28/02/2025 11:26

Oh joy we haven’t had a thread scolding women on a Uk website about trumps victory that we had no influence over because you know we can’t vote in America for at least half an hour 🙄

Yes, a government that presides over economic problems is likely to be thrown out.

Here, as well as in the U.S.

MorrisZapp · 28/02/2025 11:29

My views on Trump haven't changed in ten years. I still know what a woman is.
