Sandie Peggie facing internal misconduct hearing this week!

Utterly mind-blowing to read that NHS Fife is pressing ahead with a disciplinary hearing this Friday against Sandie Peggie, despite the Employment Tribunal not having completed its work. Sandie isn't taking this lying down and has started separate legal proceedings according to The Telegraph, which also includes the stunned reaction of Michael Foran to the news in its report.

Christ, that is disgusting, they really want to take her down, don't they.

CaptainAwkward · 16/02/2025 23:33

Jesus Christ!

BellissimoGecko · 16/02/2025 23:34

I've just seen this. I'm honestly shocked. Wtf?!

murasaki · 16/02/2025 23:37

I wonder if they're thinking that they'll call this off if she calls off the second tribunal sitting, although I don't know if she can do that, and think she wouldn't want to.

Fife are mad enough to posit that as a suggestion.

murasaki · 16/02/2025 23:38

Also if they have any evidence for the disciplinary, surely it should have been in the tribunal re misconduct etc.

joanofaardvark · 16/02/2025 23:39

Check out rollonfriday's thoughts on this one. IANAL but apparently if she is no longer an employee Fife would not be bound to implement any decisions of the Tribunal? (I might have got that wrong, but something like that).

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 16/02/2025 23:40

Holy shit, that's insane!

Quite apart from all the points raised in the article, how do they intend to carry out this disciplinary with witnesses and whatnot when half the bloody people involved haven't given evidence at the tribunal yet, that's now going to resume in July, so they aren't allowed to talk about it, and certainly not to each other?!?!

So they're trying to sack her before July so they can just go 'yeah yeah ' to the judge.

Apollo441 · 16/02/2025 23:44

If they sack her now then they can keep their 'inclusive' policies and not have them shown to be illegal.

Do you have a link for that, please?

Adding-

And the people who have given evidence are now creating more evidence pertinent to the tribunal. How the hell does that even work?!

I'm absolutely staggered.

Bannedontherun · 16/02/2025 23:46

@GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut good point totally problematic.

AnSolas · 16/02/2025 23:54

This part explains why Upton was carefully walked through the timings of events and her team has established that there was a reworking and distruction of evidence collected.

But its cheap to play with public money while the employee has to self-fund

BiologicalRobot · 16/02/2025 23:59

Good grief, are they actually legally allowed to do that?

OverpricedCupcake · 17/02/2025 00:00

WTF?
That's absolutely insane

NotAtMyAge · 17/02/2025 00:06

Twitter is now full of discrimination lawyers such as Peter Daly expressing outrage and disbelief. The general consensus appears to be that the the management of NHS Fife has lost the plot.

They are not doing themselves any favours here are they.

I would love to know who the decision maker is in Fife who is giving the green light to this witch hunt.

I've been a lurker on the tribunal threads and on catching up after work been aghast at how so many people have failed to see how DU has been playing them like a fiddle.

Supporterofwomensrights · 17/02/2025 00:12

I'm terribly sorry Sandie will have to endure more stress but one positive for the rest of us is that this will get us more support and more sunlight. Mad.

Enough4me · 17/02/2025 00:15

Hopefully the insanity of this is and the public response is of such an extreme level that other board members (non captured, there must be a few wanting to save themselves?) pull this back.
How can she be sacked when legal proceedings are taking place?

SquirrelSoShiny · 17/02/2025 00:15

I seriously wish these people would end up in prison at this stage. How bloody dare they?

I am sickened that these 'public servants' feel not only above the law, but that they are allowed to waste public money. It's time for the government to intervene and stop these endless health service snafus because if they don't we can look forward to a Reform government in the next election and that makes my heart sink even more than this spiteful crew.

Enough4me · 17/02/2025 00:17

Maybe this will also help with the petition to repeal the gender act. After all, a woman now faces the sack because she was honest that she was not comfortable about a man being in the female changing area. It's all insane!

Enough4me · 17/02/2025 00:21

@SquirrelSoShiny I think Labour are failing on so many fronts (what is going well?) and Conservative messed up before, so many will likely abstain at the next election leaving Reform with the votes.

murasaki · 17/02/2025 00:22

It's blindingly obvious who the bullies are here, and Sandie isn't one.

TheUnusuallyQuerulentMxLauraBrown · 17/02/2025 00:22

NHS Fife are utterly bonkers.

InternationalColossus · 17/02/2025 00:27

Genuinely scandalous. Wtf
