https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/51545-where-does-the-british-public-stand-on-transgender-rights-in-202425

'a new YouGov study, the fourth in a series reaching back to 2018, shows an increased scepticism towards transgender rights across the board – and particularly in the two and a half years since our previous wave of this study.
Notable in this most recent study – conducted in mid-December – is the growing resistance on transgender rights among those groups that are typically more permissive on the issue, like women and young people.
In fact, the only question on which women now take the permissive view on transgender rights is saying that people should be able to change their gender socially, although at 55% this still represents an eight point drop since the 2022 survey.'

Well worth a read and hopefully a sign of the direction of travel with this issue.

Where does the British public stand on transgender rights in 2024/25? | YouGov

Prior to that happening, most people didnt have a problem with transsexual (as they were known then) people, because they weren't being total knobs and demanding to be treated exactly like a woman, or else.

Women did have a problem with them using female spaces like toilets, they just didn’t know how to say so, so kept their heads down, finished up quickly and left.

We also knew transvestites we’re sexual fetishists.

Gender studies departments really need to be abolished.

I would go full Mao Zedong on gender studies.

Why are we importing Bulgarian workers to pick potatoes when there are so many gender studies academics standing around with their two arms the one length?

Dwimmer · 05/06/2025 09:04

Trans binary people (trans women and trans women) primarily have a high level of Gender Dysphoria. This condition if not recognised or not treated invariably leads to depression and potentially suicide.

In young people who identify as trans the rate of suicide is no higher than for those who do not identify as trans but have the same comorbidities.

In adults who have surgery to ‘transition’, the rate of suicide is eighteen times higher than the rest of the population.

Regarding the poll, this is what happens when you make fetishistic and/or misogynistic/angry/violent/creepy men the face of your movement. And also what happens when people can see that vulnerable young people are being harmed by this.

Prior to that happening, most people didnt have a problem with transsexual (as they were known then) people, because they weren't being total knobs and demanding to be treated exactly like a woman, or else.

Well, that's not true in my experience.

I first encounered a man who was pretending to be a woman in 1993 and myself and 2 friends had to remove him from the floor of the ladies backstage toilets at a festival as he was shimmying under each door to get a look at the women using said toilets.

Since then, not one man pretending to be a woman that I have met or known has been 'unproblematic' in my experience. Every single one of them.

Unless of course i just kept meeting all the bad ones...

Chiseltip · 05/06/2025 09:12

It was mostly pushed by young people who were desperately seeking a way to stand out and feel relevant. It's "dying out" because the generation that promoted it have now left school/Uni and they are beginning to realise two things . .

Their pronouns won't pay the rent.

Nobody actually gives a fuck about their opinion now that they're in the real world.

Oh absolutely.

However the universities will have to acknowledge, however tacitly, that they backed total clap trap

Damn Shed. With bad luck like that, you must have been struck by lightening multiple times in your life, every dropped piece of toast lands butter side down and every puddle gets splashed onto you by a passing car. Well done for struggling on.

It needs the research bodies to recognise this first. Research funding councils are captured by this ideology making gender studies departments profitable grifts for universities.

Fuck, I'd love to see Sally Hines having to get a real job picking potatoes.

It is almost as if men who identify as women are many times more likely to commit sexual offences than other men… …oh wait, they are!

TheaBrandt1 · 05/06/2025 09:29

Feel fortunate in that all my gen x friends and acquaintances eye roll and have seen through it. Teens have moved on from it and also eye roll and call the teens that follow it “the they/thems”. Any teen trend heartily adopted by cringe teachers is doomed to failure

I assume you are asking how many trans women have penile inversions (therefore a partial penal removal) versus other forms of GRS? Well virtually all surgery of that type performed in the UK will be of that type. If you are asking the percentage of trans women that have GRS then this link will do…
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1383064/lgbtq-europe-gender-affirming-surgery/

No. That won't do.

It doesn't specify bottom surgery, it just asks about surgery, so will include mastectomies, boob jobs, FFS etc.

Lovelyview · 05/06/2025 10:13

myplace · 05/06/2025 08:49

I’m really surprised Orca is working with so many trans people in their 60s, given the terrible life expectancy of untreated trans people.

I suspect many of Orca's clients are old men who have fallen down a porn rabbit hole and developed AGP. I'm sure they're delighted to receive Orca's gender affirming explanation that they're not old fetishists but instead are stunning and brave trans binary shining stars who absolutely should take female hormones (apparently gives men 'gender euphoria'), wear dresses and go into women's changing rooms.

Trans identifying men do get cosmetic surgery on the NHS. I have seen more than one report of a prisoner having their Adam's apple shaved. (Most recently in Scotland but can't recall his name.)

Men can also get electrolysis and speech therapy on the NHS. Electrolysis is usually not available to women (those with severe PCOS for instance) and many of us are aware of the dreadful waiting list for speech therapy for children who really need it. These waiting lists don't seem to affect the special men who want to sound more 'girly'.

I am glad I am not the only one who seems to be finding what is being posted and the link to be disconnected.

There was however a statistic floating around a few years ago. Maybe from a stonewall survey that gave us a less than 5% vaginoplasty rate in the UK.

There is a great many male people with transgender identities who very happily post their self published porn wherever they can. There used to be masses of it on Twitter. You would follow a thread and go check out a profile and end up seeing unwanted porn. It was supposed to be behind a sensitive content warning but rarely was (I believe that was the aim of some of the people posting it. To expose it to as many unwilling viewers as possible )

It seems to be incongruent with statements about so many of them having had the surgery. So many of them even now acknowledge that they don’t have dysphoria about their penises at all.

IDareSay · 05/06/2025 10:30

Data on surgeries here:
https://fairplayforwomen.com/penis/

This is quite a few years old now but I can't imagine the rates of surgery have increased since.

You’re doing that logic thing again.

This seems to be very similar to the data Orca gave us, which they assured me was just genital surgery. I got there by registering with Statista and then following the links to the data Orca posted. However the question asked is clearer: Have you undergone any kind of intervention to change your body so it better matches your gender identity?

You have to follow the link and choose the 'transgender' and 'intervention' options. I'll try to post a screenshot of the chart

Thank you.

So still not clearly asked about vaginoplasty?

CassOle · 05/06/2025 11:03

So lip filler would count.
