NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #5

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks. The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton started giving evidence on 6 February.

It's awful isn't it, how much money is being spent on forcing all the women to share their space with a man because one man wants them to. I simply don't see how it can be justified.

It would be nice for taxpayers to be able to somehow hold the NHS to account for this use of money vs front line care. Surely giving Dr U a different place to change (recognising that sex and gender both matter but are different in law and in biological reality) would have been much cheaper and fairer?

Good. I hope that the tribunal panel and legal teams get whatever procedural or other matters these are out of the way.

@FeralWoman Sandie is a approx four week old puppy found in a bag with her sister who sadly couldn't be saved. I put her down my top to keep her warm and regulate her heart.
@myplace I don't think she's a spaniel, judging by her paws and tail and where she was found she's probably a lurcher mix.

I'd put money on the reason for the delay being him/his KC arguing for his cross examination to be In Camera, citing mental health slash anxiety.

They might well be on the basis they know how much he’s going to fuck up their chances of defending the case. Of course depends on whether Sandie goes for it

Presumably the trains were okay today and there is just an almighty exchange of views going on in a nearby room.

I don't think 'threats on social media' and/or 'trashed reputation' are going to be valid points when we consider how many GC women have lost their jobs/been cancelled/receive death threats and physical violence.
