NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #3

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

There is nothing rude about referring to a name that is factually correct though. For at least 22 years of his life, when Upton was in School, and graduated as a doctor, he went by the name of Theodore Upton. No Beth Upton studied or graduated with a medical degree. Only a Theodore Upton did. Do we even know that he doesn’t still Theodore Upton in any instance? Old bank accounts etc.

The fellow who was formerly called Theodore Upton until he allegedly changed his name to Beth, is an adult human male, so it is quite correct and proper to also call him a man.

If it rude to call one adult human male a ‘man’, then it follows that it is rude to call any adult human male a man. And it isn’t. It is not like a slur.

Now when JR changes ‘stat’ to ‘shat’ more than once, you’re left wondering a little if the scatological element is at all accidental. It must be though, mustn’t it?

We all know there's a load of bollocks and transactivists trying to coercively force women to give up their rights. Why are we looking at this random article and what does America have to do with NHS Fife's case? If we're going to go that route America I think has just reasserted women's rights to single sex spaces. I'm sure data showing how brilliant this is for women will be forthcoming shortly.

Maya is saying - I think - that JR has taken an article which misrepresents an academic paper based on US states and is trying to use this to argue why a bloke should have access to women's changing in Scottish hospitals?

Poor JR, she is finding this a struggle. And Maya is amazingly logical, as usual
