NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #3

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

Interesting how unusual a Fife accent sounds in this context when its all about an incident in Fife. This case has class running right through it.

I was just thinking about class and thought that Dr Upton next would be a neat contrast.

You’d think the males the NHS Fife are cheerleading, and trampling women’s boundaries for in the process are such gentle shrinking violets. So shy, and just cripplingly self conscious. They are completely non-men in their celestial souls, and just want to blend in with the wallpaper to ease their distress at the male world. Women wouldn’t even recognise them as men. Well good obedient women.

Now a whole list of paraphilias that males can exhibit been read out to the tribunal. Fetischistic this, and fetischistic that.

She seemed shaken and upset and was trying to be okay for everyone else.
