Despite telling the TW it wasn’t his area of expertise and offering to refer him he’s deemed transphobic apparently.

FRANCE: Gynecologist Suspended From Practice After LGBT Organization Files "Transphobia" Complaint - Reduxx

A French gynecologist has been sanctioned by medical authorities after a trans activist group reported him to the Minister of Equality for comments which they deemed to be “transphobic.” Dr. Victor Acharian, who operates in the Pau region, has been pro...

I think it's time that someone disciplined the disciplinary board for their support of sexual fantasising on behalf of this trans patient and not in support of a member of their professional body.

If the doctor had sexually abused the patient he would be struck off, but seems to me it's ok for the patient to transfer his sexual fantasies onto the doctor with no repercussions for him, but the doctor is punished. So bizarre and a ridiculous one way street.

It would be great if the doctor sued the patient for slander. Full court appearance by the patient and photos of his bits as evidence. Sorry I'm in full rage mode at the moment.

lcakethereforeIam · 30/01/2025 20:10

Has France made misgendering a crime? If they have that might explain the disciplinary. I know Germany has, people have certainly been fined there and, I think, jailed. I don't know if France has gone so far down that route. If they have this could be a bone to try to save the Doctor from an actual criminal sanction.

I also wonder if I've misunderstood part of the sanction. 'Denied another trans-identified male patient' (and I'm reaching here) could be ambiguous. 'Denied' could mean refused to play along with their gender fantasy rather than refused to treat them.

I'm probably being far too generous regarding their motivations.

Shortshriftandlethal · 30/01/2025 20:11

Gynaecologists deal with the female reproductive system. End of.

I had someone target me once, on another specialist forum I post on. I am one of only a small handful of women who post on this forum, and I have not been shy about speaking out, when necessary, about women's sex based rights and protections - and so have become quite well known for my views ( even though it is an urbanism and architecture forum).

I was targeted because of this 'notoreity' ( there are, for some reason, lots of gay men who are 'trans allies' that post). When provoked by a load of absolute horsehit about TW requiring gynaecologists, I responded by saying that gender affirmation surgey for males had "absolutely nothing to do with gynaecology" and gave a description of what gender surgery actually involved and implied ( blind fistulas and skin transplants involving hair follicles etc) and suggested that if there was an issue with the procedure then the person should go straight back to their gender surgeon.

This person then took the matter straight to the owner of the forum - who resides in The Netherlands - telling him that unless my posts were removed he was going to report his forum for "transphobia". My posts were removed..but I did feel I scored a win......for my clear and unequivocal outlining of the facts - which for a short time had been registered - before being removed.

These guys are total narcissistic fantasists who, for far too long, have had things their way.

MxFlibble · 30/01/2025 20:17

Exactly. This is like having a surgeon carve your liver into the shape of a heart, then getting miffed when a cardiologist says there's nothing they can do to help.

Then the cardiologist's union (or whatever they are called) sanctions the cardiologist for being unwilling to work on your liver-heart, and getting annoyed and calling your liver-heart a liver in their response to why they can't help.

AND WORSE, sanctioning you to 'have a go' at treating this person't liver-heart, or any other person's liver-heart on pain of further sanction.

I don't see how a doctor could continue to work in that speciality honestly - a previous post said something about the hippocratic oath, well, surely knowingly treating something that you know you're not qualified to treat breaks that.

I'm going to go against the grain and say that his message, as shown in the image above, is unnecessarily rude and dismissive. It says:

SIR,
I am a gynaecologist and I look after real women. I am not qualified to look after MEN, even if they shave their beard and come to tell my secretary that they have become women. My GYNAECOLOGICAL examination table is not adapted for examining men. You have specialised and extremely competent services to look after men like you.

Whilst I understand the factual position that a gynaecologist works with female reproductive organs, to repeatedly refer to the client as a man, sir and so on is inflammatory and not particularly helpful to anyone.

I believe this was in response to the transaction woman's boyfriends complaint on social media - not the actual transwomen. The Dr did refer to them as 'she/her'.

I'm fluent in French and the tone of his message is extremely aggressive and doesn't just say that he is not qualified to treat the patient.

@catmothertes1

And I'm fluent in bullshit and any man accessing and thus wasting an appointment that could have been used to aid an assist a real woman with real gynaecologist issues deserves to be spoken to in an aggressive manner.

Plantatreetoday · 30/01/2025 20:42

Why visit this gynaecologist at all
Surely they know they can’t be treated

Im assuming the only reason for this appointment was to make a point and get the Doctor suspended again

So more appointments lost to the female community!

The worlds gone mad

The patient booked his appointment on the Doctolib app because he said he was experiencing pains in his chest. Oh là là, doctor, feel my big bosom...

When he got there, it was the receptionist who said - I can just imagine her incredulous tone having dealt with plenty of medical receptionists in France, they don't do kind and caring - "but we don't treat people like you here" or something similar. Just the reaction he was hoping for. The bit I'm not sure about is whether the gynecologist came out to say the same at the time or if he only reacted online.

As someone said, it was when the partner left a negative review online that the doc applied with the comments quoted here already. Direct. Factual. "Scientifiquement, un homme est un homme, une femme est une femme. Même s'il se considère comme une femme, je dis que c'est un homme"

I remember him being interviewed on the radio the following day. I would say his tone was of absolute shock so his outrage was honest and raw. I don't think he was even aware that this kind of thing was happening around the world. I'd say he knows a lot more about it now.

here's a link in French: https://www.larepubliquedespyrenees.fr/societe/afp/france-monde-societe/un-gynecologue-sanctionne-pour-avoir-refuse-une-patiente-transgenre-23057660.php

Another article I found mentions the serious lack of gynecologists in France. The number has fallen by 52% in the last 13 years. The article mentions women being sacrificed in all this. It also asks if future medical students will avoid gynecology going forward if this is what they have to look forward to.

All excellent points. Also, back to the old days when it was accepted that flashing was a sexual off, which was a gateway offence. This appears to have been rewritten to avoid obvious bloody questions

Datun · 30/01/2025 20:44

I know! What's all this you can't be rude and aggressive to someone who is leading you down the garden path, to set you up to fail, at best, or could potentially be trying to involve you in their sexual fantasy at worst?

Yes, imagine the rapist who doesn't like the term "rapist" while he's dragging you down a back alley. He'll sue you, girl. Mind your language.

Incidents like this are what is fuelling the backlash against Gender Ideology, people are sick to the back teeth of this group of people threatening their livelihoods and reputations and much more besides.

This is not we just want to get on with our lives, live and let live this is Everyone will accede to our demands, they will validate our view of ourselves wherever and whenever we so decree. And they wonder why the likes of Trump get elected.

Yes, and we will test the public and every professional until they/we/ze all conform.

HoppityBun · 30/01/2025 21:21

My Google search tells me that the word gynaecology is derived from the Greek “gyne” that apparently means “woman” and “logo” that means “study/ knowledge of”. Why would a biological man want to be examined by someone specialising in women’s reproductive anatomy?

On December 16, 2024, the Conseil National de l’Ordre des Médecins sentenced Acharian to a five-month suspension, followed by a one-month probationary period. During that time, if the gynecologist is found to have engaged in transphobia or denied another trans-identified male patient, he would be sanctioned again.

My bolding. So basically he's being forced to treat any other trans-identified male coming in. And a five month suspension?? For tellling the truth??

But how? How can he treat a man? For what would he be treating him?

Datun · 30/01/2025 21:34

For me, it's not even about telling the truth. I can imagine health professionals fudging things they say here and there, to protect fragile or vulnerable people.

It's about the fact that it's a dominance display. A characteristic of transactivism.

The entire ideology falls apart unless people are forced to pretend. And it's the forcing of it that gets me.

Comply, or else, defines it.

And getting a gynaecologist to do it is par for the course. Midwives, nurses, la leche league. It's all the same.

Fortunately, it's just about to have had its day.

MimiGC · 30/01/2025 21:37

Alternatively, the gynaecologist could have cranked open the speculum and see how he liked them apples!

LeavesOnTrees · 30/01/2025 21:39

This Dr is now out of action for 5 months. So that's 5 months worth of appointments cancelled. How many women would have received help in that time, some suffering from serious health problems ?
It's a disgrace.

Exactly - slow fucking hand clap to those that orchestrated it. It does shine a very bright light on exactly what they really think of women despite claiming to be one.

Yes the ‘Sir’ is in response to the TW’s partner’s bad review.

Outwiththenorm · 30/01/2025 22:02

Yes the ‘Sir’ is in response to the TW’s partner’s bad review.

It's a bit like in the States where people in certain areas say "yes sir/ma'am" naturally all the time. It's a hard habit to break. In France, you get a "bonjour Madame/Monsieur" everywhere.

My little tiny glimmer of hope is that the new prime minister François Bayrou is from the same city where this incident took place (small city, small world[. He's a 73 year old man, formerly a philosophy teacher, with 6 children and lots of grandchildren. If he can only stay in office longer than the last 3 or 4 PMs, he might be a voice of reason on this question. Although he dared suggest yesterday that France was being submerged by immigration and that didn't go down well...

Hairyesterdaygonetoday · 30/01/2025 22:41

So a gynaecologist is banned from practising for five months because he can’t treat a man. Tough luck for all those women suffering pain or disability awaiting an appointment. But they’re only women so they don’t matter.

IdaGlossop · 30/01/2025 22:46

AstonScrapingsNameChange · 30/01/2025 17:14

But he's not been suspended for 'being aggressive' he's been suspended for being 'transphobic '.

It's the tone that has defined the transphobia in this case. 'Men like you' must have been said with the intention of being hostile.
