The threads are linked Cassie, Datun is absolutely right to point out your special interest in this so that onlookers are aware that you come from a point of bias.

The first audio makes it very clear what the Libs issue was with the tweet , equating trans people with paedophiles because it is reminiscent of an old homophobic trope and was likely to cause lots of concerns/disapproval in voters.

Here's the transcript of the audio:

Nowhere are they talking about Angie Jones being a nazi sympathiser. That's why the case confuses me, because it seems to hinge on something they never said.

Everyone on these threads comes from "a point of bias" life because we all have different opinions. The fact I'm confident to come here and express my differing opinion doesn't mean I should be constantly criticised with implications that somehow I'm bad faith or have ulterior motives.

I have enough respect for posters on this board, and MNHQ, not to go round dragging up stuff off old threads and reposting it at different times to "remind everyone of that posters bias". I think that's extremely rude and quite cliquey to be honest.

Although the NN had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the LWS rally, people do try to lie about it. I’m surprised that the little Liberal gang seemed to automatically think that the public would associate the NN ‘paedo filth’ banner as referring to LGB people. And TI etc people. Maybe they associate it, and that is the reason they seemed to think that other people would too. They must take no interest in the campaigning of the women’s group against paedophiles that seems to take place regularly there. It’s sad for the victims when their legislators seem to be more concerned about their own glossy pr than the problem of paedophilia that seem to exist. Otherwise, I’d expect them to be au fait with a protest that occurs regularly in their city.

They talk in the video about how a woman was knocked out and taken to hospital, IIRC. And Moira describes being kicked in the shins multiple times by TRAs.

The way the women were treated was awful. Thank goodness that politicians like MD wanted to highlight that pointing out that trans people can have rights without destroying women's rights is not transphobic.

That was what I gleaned from the 33 minute audio that was linked up thread.

I'm glad that she has brought this case rather than settling. It's all out there for the public to see.

Agree it's abhorrent that the intimidation and violence used towards the LWS women has passed without comment. I have great respect for MD bringing this case. Women who stand up and put themselves in the line of fire are worth a hundred keyboard warriors and armchair self appointed pundits.

I feel you need to speak to some gay people (particularly gay men) to understand more about this. It is a very well known homophobic trope to imply gay men in particular are a threat to children. So well known that many gay men would see a tweet talking about "paedo filth" as being about them.
It's really not OK and I think Angie Jones would do better to recognise that rather than doubling down.

Thanks to all the posters knowledgeable about Australian politics for sharing their insights and wisdom along with those sharing the transcripts. It's been quite a revelation to see the same levels of women hatred, violence and corruption fostered and enabled by politicians and others as happens here.
And good to see the relentless determination that nobody should be silenced about safeguarding children.
