So, let me ask, the judge hasn’t been convinced that Kellie Jay Keen has been ‘associating with’ nazis and the far right? Well strike me down! What a pity we couldn’t get a tribunal tweets transcript on that to paste every fucking time some one tells us all about how it is very convincing and all so accurate an assessment.

For those who have now seen the famous Gariepy video, did KJK discuss anything but what she normally says? Anything from a white supremist point of view? Was. Transcript of the interview provided for the judge? (To be clear I am not after transcript just asking if one was added to the evidence list)

Can we now throw that interview back at bad faith posters and point out that just by agreeing that any single sex space is needed or that affirming only treatment is harming children that they themselves are ‘aligned with white supremcy’?

Were both of the Soldiers of Christ videos of a woman interviewing KJK at speakers corner? And did the legal team provide concrete evidence that the soldiers of Christ were far right? Last time I looked, 18 months ago, all I found was an ad hoc interview of KJK at Hyde Park and that the group were a conservative Christian group with concerns about family values. But I didn’t find the ‘far right’ content , just some person’s say so.

Was the ‘proud boy’ Barenas of Miami as mentioned on these threads? The ‘ex’ Proud Boy at the time as reported by news outlets within 4 days of the appearance so wasn’t a ‘Proud Boy’ at the time but a bloke with some kind of political aspirations and who wasn’t as articulate as the women? Or was it at another event?

Thank you for the recap. I really look forward to the judges comments on these videos in his decision. Because I suspect it will be along the lines of pointing out that they didn’t show what some people have been desperate to have them signify. And that it really is bad faith and you would have to be deeply prejudiced to portray them as they have been in the past.

I have to also apologise again as I was still half asleep.

For Soldiers of Christ, please read 'Soldier of Christ Online'. And the woman interviewing is Kay who seems to do quite a few videos of different people who speak at Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park, she personally used to speak at Hyde Park Speaker's Corner about Jesus.

Kay seems to have removed linkage to Soldier of Christ Online from her own youtube channel except the name in her YouTube address. However, Soldier of Christ is still very active on YouTube, and describe themselves as 'Thought-Provoking Debates, Apologetics & Polemics from Speakers Corner, London UK'. And you will see Kay there up to 6-12 months ago.

Soldiers of Christ is a different organisation.

Either way, this is the article in Wikipedia that pointed Pinto-Lopez to the Soldier of Christ Online interview. I believe this article was also heavily harvested from for Pink News articles. And I think that Xander Elliards perhaps should have done better research himself or taken more time to explain why Soldier of Christ Online was 'far right'.

archive.is/7p1WO

But Kay has stated in her interviews with KJK that she is from a 'christian' channel, obviously a YouTube channel. Kay has not stated that she is 'far right'. Maybe she is but it seems that again this is some kind of over reach of guilt by association.

I stayed up to watch bits of it. It was gratifying to see that Moira's team insisted that the "Big Lie" speech from LWS was played in its entirety, rather than the cherry-picked few seconds Pesutto's lot wanted. His Honour was thus able to see and listen to yet another intelligent, articulate and informed woman making her case.

The few minutes at the very end, when Moira's team just played some of the hateful messages left for Moira was shocking and effective.

FeralWoman · 14/10/2024 13:33

Is anyone else planning nothing for the days of the closing arguments next week so they can watch it? Just me? I’m hoping to not have to go out anywhere during those hours.

I was on X posting in between whatever I had to do and listening to it on fast forward [remember that term?]. Here is a mini-thread I did today if anyone's interested. https://x.com/ish_chel/status/1845629749961560096

We've just followed each other on TwiX Grin

Filomene · 14/10/2024 13:58

I've listened to this tonight and it's pretty good.

Someone above was asking if the judge actually made certain remarks.

After about 50 mins, a speaker who transcribed what the Judge said and called the evidence 'ridiculous' and 'garbage' and he editorialised some of the videos that Pesutto's counsel presented. Deffo worth listening to.

but this is what I mean, how dim do you have to be to imagine that your opponents won't play the whole video!

It's just a ridiculous assumption.

And then how genuinely stupid do you have to be, to not then realise that it makes you look like an utter twat. Way worse than if you hadn't introduced the video in the first place.

It's farcical. The whole thing is characterised by them fondly imagining they can cherry pick everything, edit around it to hide context - and that no one would notice 😁

That's what they do on social media, after all, and it's normally highly effective for them

You say that … but how many times have we seen people insist that Lisa Morgan is aligned with Hilter because she described how the propaganda works? These accusations all seem to land not quite as they desperately want it all too.

Westea · 15/10/2024 00:25

Pesutto has survived the purported "leadership spill". It turned out to be quite insignificant in nature.

FeralWoman · 15/10/2024 03:34

Sounds like they’re just biding their time and will try again. Surely they understand that his reputation is shit after this.

Maybe - but perhaps not.

AEDT
‘Not one’ MP raised concerns about Pesutto’s leadership in party room meeting

The Liberal party room has just wrapped up with no spill motion, as we had earlier reported.
MPs have told Guardian Australia the 45-minute meeting was “friendly”, “agreeable”, “boring” and “nothing special”.
Leader in the upper house, Georgie Crozier, said only Pesutto mentioned the defamation trial “in passing”.
We’re putting it behind us.
She said “not one” MP raised concerns about Pesutto’s leadership.

I don’t believe them. We know now that they lie and have a very different perspective to others.

NotBadConsidering · 15/10/2024 08:00

Yes, a group of people who have been shown in court over the last few weeks to completely misrepresent reality for their own gains is hardly a reliable source of information about the private goings on of a party room, is it?

BezMills · 15/10/2024 08:02

Who knows. The second most popular party in the second most populous state - of Straya - they're not exactly playing for all the chips or with a full deck

NotBadConsidering · 15/10/2024 08:04

Interesting this wasn’t quoted from the link:

However, several MPs have told Guardian Australia the motion is unlikely to go ahead because the party room is unable to agree upon a candidate to replace Pesutto.

So they would replace him if they could agree? Not exactly a ringing endorsement of him, is it…

BezMills · 15/10/2024 08:10

Politics makes strange bedfellows.

Why anyone (except the ruling Victoria Labor Party) would be happy that this obviously [redacted] man is in charge of the leading party in opposition is beyond me.

Helleofabore · 15/10/2024 09:21

Thanks notbad.

I agree with feral, that they are biding their time and the jockeying for will continue. If the judge really does expedite the decision as has been said, then it this will mean that they might wait that out. I doubt any report from that tries to declare there is some kind of unanimous support for Pesutto as leader. That sounds either like it is a false (embellished) claim, an orchestrated move by someone like Kennett or they all decided that until one of them could win decisively they would play along or all three or none.

They don’t go from declaring there is going to be a spill motion to all unanimously supporting the current leadership team in a week without something significant happening, if one candidate could win.
