Trans woman murdered in Georgia, and an assault in England

https://www.msn.com/en-in/news/world/trans-model-killed-in-tbilisi-after-georgia-passes-law-imposing-lgbtq-restrictions/ar-AA1qTM6V

A trans woman was murdered in Georgia (the country), just after a "pro family" anti-LGBT bill was passed. The law bans same-sex marriage, gender-affirming treatments, pride books and events etc.

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/dangerous-far-teenagers-brutal-assault-171552704.html

In Swansea, England a trans girl was attacked in a park by a man "using marital art moves". It happened in May but has came to light now after his phone was searched by anti-terrorism officers. The attacker is far-right, glorifies acts of terrorism, is anti-immigration and yes homophobic and transphobic.

Any lessons to be learned from these 2 cases? Do anti-LGBT laws and over-indulgence to online far-right material result in violence and people being hurt or killed?

So we likely have a ND, sexually confused North American who OBSESSIVELY appears on the FWR boards to bang the same drum over and over and over as some kind of weird compulsion.

OP in the nicest possible way, get a hobby or a pet or at least a decent therapist. Go outside, breathe, enjoy the sunshine. Engage with humans outside whatever endlessly affirming games or Discord groups you reside in. Be part of the world.

Men kill men and somehow its still all womens fault and our problem to solve

I’ve also wondered about this huge disconnect. For all of those intense lady-feels, it’s a complete wonder that TRAs seem to lack any consideration or empathy for actual women.

If TW were women you’d expect them to be more concerned about the very real issues women face, particularly as violence against women and girls is a very pressing concern right here in the UK right now (let alone other countries like Georgia).

If trans women were women then society would largely shrug its shoulders about systemic violence being committed against them.

Not a therapist. Any therapist in North America is only going to encourage this nonsense. I suspect the preponderance of therapy and the active encouragement of navel gazing in America has contributed to the rapid growth of this political movement.

OP charges their user name more times than some people change their bed so it's not surprising they forgot.

Yes I said decent therapist. Thanks to the wonders of zoom it's probably worth North Americans and Australians looking outside their home shores!

From the description of the murder it does not look as if the new law has anything to do with it. What is interesting is that there is a desire to make the murder look related.
Also worrying is that the UN promotes the right to change sex on official documents. In the UK such changes have resulted in harm to transpeople's health e.g. women not getting reminders for cervical smears (because their NHS record says they are male) and men not being checked for prostate cancer (ditto reason). Being able to change sex on official documents is dangerous.
I also note that Swansea is not in England. It's in Wales, where the Senned has been promoting pro-trans values for years.

IDontHateRainbows · 20/09/2024 12:51

Correlation doesn't always equal causation.

Probably in most cases of a law being passed there is an attack on someone from a minority group that could be related to it but also could be random...because attacks happen all the time, so it's easy to see a link that's not necessarily there.

Indeed. Correlation does not equal causality.

*In 2023, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) published highly concerning findings from 2022 on the scale of the situation including that:

  • Nearly 89,000 women and girls were intentionally killed that year, making it the highest yearly number recorded in the past two decades.
  • While the overall number of homicides globally has begun to fall in 2022 after a spike in 2021, the number of female homicides is not decreasing.*

But, naturally, 89000 dead women have to slip over into obscurity so we can "learn lessons" from 2 dead transgender identified males. I'm sure there are others but this is all the OP brought to the table, so I take your 2, and raise you by 88998.

Thoughts, OP?

You miss counted - only one of the OPs victims was killed, the other was an assault so you need to factor in the millions of women who are assaulted every year to compare figures.

Good catch. Mon dieu, I'm getting as bad at truthful statistics as t'other side.

Okay, so 1 dead transidentified male against 88999 dead females.

What is "fruity" meant to mean here exactly, are you using a homophobic slur?

Someone seems to be trying a little to hard to be offended by what women say

It's interesting that MRAs salivate - and I mean they actually relish reporting anything done to a transperson (they were literally salivating with glee over Brianna Ghey whose murder they weaponised) - whenever a transperson is attacked or murdered. But it is SO SO SO RARE, that it's barely unheard of, and 99% of murders are in the sex industry and/or by someone they know. So, not homophobic or 'transphobic'. It's quite something that trans people are so privileged and protected that any murder of them is report-worthy. Meanwhile, rapes and assaults against actual women have INCREASED, and three (3) women are murdered PER...WEEK.

But does that bare reporting? No. Just two stories of biological men murdered by people who knew them and not related to 'transphobia' at all.

CrochetForLife · 23/09/2024 05:20

So a 'transgender' assault was really just about a drug deal.

They can never find any actual 'transphobia', can they. Because it is rarer than hens teeth.

I wonder if we posted all the articles of femphobia and females being assaulted by MRAs/TRAs, we'd fill up a thread in no time.

CrochetForLife · 23/09/2024 05:22

FrippEnos · 20/09/2024 12:56

Although abhorrent, neither of what you have posted were caused by "anti-LGBT laws" being passed.

It rarely ever is.

TRUTH is never important to MRAs like the OP. They lie and lie and lie and lie, and misrepresent. It's desperate and quite pitiful.

CrochetForLife · 23/09/2024 05:31

YesterdaysFuture · 20/09/2024 13:36

I would be careful when using terms like "anti-LGBT laws".

Iran has some of the worst anti-LGB laws on the planet, so bad that they encourage gay people to change sex. The high rate of sex change surgery in Iran is due to it being a deeply homophobic country, one in which parents are asked "would you rather have a straight daughter or a gay son?".

Yes, and as we can see, Trans Ideology is a deeply, deeply homophobic movement. Starting with Susie Green who transed her son who they thought was gay because her husband was homophobic and wouldn't accept their gay son.

Trans Ideology is deeply femphobic, misogynistic and homophobic. It truly is evil and regressive and hateful.

CrochetForLife · 23/09/2024 05:34

YesterdaysFuture · 20/09/2024 13:41

Putting this very bluntly, do trans rights activists celebrate every time a trans person is murdered because the murder can be used for political purposes?

Why is the first thought to come onto a site with GC people and point the finger?

They do. They basically cream themselves whenever there is a trans murder or assault. They can weaponise and USE that death/assault to push their hateful misogynistic, homophobic and femphobic ideology. As I said above, they literally salivate over it, you can sense their fingers shaking with excitement as they type out their announcement of a murder/assault. They don't a flying rat fuck about the victim. They're just something for them to use. They really 'get off' on it.

why…assume it was in England?”

because the weblink said uk.news.yahoo and maybe the poster thinks that UK = England?

Not uncommon with Americans, sadly.

YellowAsteroid · 23/09/2024 06:46

An average of 2 women are murdered every 3 days by their domestic partners or ex-partners. Because they were women.

Do you think exposure to a culture which is structurally sexist/misogynist influences this violence @Christinapple ?

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 23/09/2024 08:59

What a strange thread - poor OP seems awfully muddled!

Funnily enough I had just read a news article about the horrific murder of Kesaria Abramidze following a link from a trans subreddit.

In trans community parlance Kesaria was dating a ‘downlow’ man who wanted to keep the relationship secret. The murder occurred 2 hours after Kesaria posted a photo of them together on FB stories.

I don’t think the Georgian law re: local councils having the right to refuse Pride events was a catalyst but I guess we’ll have to wait for the trial.

(Condolences to Kesaria’s family and friends 💐)

As an aside, here are the autogenerated ‘related stories’ from the IBTimes site…

If we include the main story on the page it adds up to a total of 2 transgender people murdered and 3 non transgender people murdered by 2 transgender murderers (those victims are 1 woman and 2 men, one of the men was profoundly disabled).

All of the 4 murderers* are male, 2 are transwomen and 2 are the ‘downlow’ boyfriends of transwomen.

*3 of the perpetrators have been convicted of murder and the 4th has been charged and is awaiting trial, so I guess not yet officially a murderer.

CautiousLurker · 23/09/2024 09:11

@CryptoFascistMadameCholet that is such a sad tale - clearly the killer/BF was wrestling with internalised homophobia that meant that, although Kesaria felt they could now be out and proud, the BF absolutely was not happy to have his sexuality up for debate in a public forum.

I can see both sides (not the consequent murder) but can see how BF felt betrayed and angry at having his status published without permission, the feeling that perhaps Kesaria was trying to make him come out about their relationship without thought for what that may mean for/to him, but driven by the need to be publicly acknowledged by ones’ partner.

It’s one thing for Kesaria to have felt that new laws protected them so they could be (even more) open about their lives, but another for the BF to feel that he was publicly humiliated and/or exposed. It would not have been unusual for a man in his shoes to attempt suicide in those circumstances, so it was a tragedy waiting to happen whichever way it unfolded. Just awful for Kesaria’s family, but also for the BF and his family.

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 23/09/2024 09:36

The autogenerated ‘related story’ about a transwomen murdered by another ‘downlow’ boyfriend is strikingly similar, yet was charged under a new law that sought to protect people with a trans identity (the first conviction of it’s type) so I’m going out on a limb here and speculating that men who resort to murder after being publicly exposed for having had a same-sex relationship are neither encouraged by nor deterred by new legislation relating to transgender people.

Internalised homophobia (and fear of societal homophobia) is a very destructive thing.

I’d like to think there is a way to preserve women’s spaces, sports and services for female people whilst still fighting against homophobia and also legally protecting people with a gender non-conforming appearance from targeted violence (including transwomen).

Perhaps OP can suggest a productive way forward that doesn’t involve pretending that reproductive sex is a changeable category (because that idea really isn’t working out well for female people)?
