Trans woman murdered in Georgia, and an assault in England

https://www.msn.com/en-in/news/world/trans-model-killed-in-tbilisi-after-georgia-passes-law-imposing-lgbtq-restrictions/ar-AA1qTM6V

A trans woman was murdered in Georgia (the country), just after a "pro family" anti-LGBT bill was passed. The law bans same-sex marriage, gender-affirming treatments, pride books and events etc.

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/dangerous-far-teenagers-brutal-assault-171552704.html

In Swansea, England a trans girl was attacked in a park by a man "using marital art moves". It happened in May but has came to light now after his phone was searched by anti-terrorism officers. The attacker is far-right, glorifies acts of terrorism, is anti-immigration and yes homophobic and transphobic.

Any lessons to be learned from these 2 cases? Do anti-LGBT laws and over-indulgence to online far-right material result in violence and people being hurt or killed?

The main lesson I'm learning from this is that it seems likely more trans people have recently died from complications surrounding surgery than from violence.

Why aren't more journalists talking about the recent tragic deaths of young people who have had gender 'affirming' surgery?

I mean, this is heartbreaking.

Given not only did you think that Swansea is England but when even the link you posted which goes to an article from WALES online (in large font)

My guess is that the explanation is that the poster is one of mumsnet’s North American visitors.

but the article doesn't mention england anywhere, although there are several references to wales, south wales police etc. So if the poster didn't know swansea was in wales, or where wales is, I don't understand why she would assume it was in england rather than america, australia, scotland, ireland, new zealand, canada etc?

why…assume it was in England?”

because the weblink said uk.news.yahoo and maybe the poster thinks that UK = England?

Snowypeaks · 20/09/2024 22:05

To some Americans, UK = England.

8.2 billion people in the world. Yet our fruity friend can only find 2 stories of male violence against other males who identify as the opposite sex, one incident happening in MAY.

Let's compare, shall we?

3 women are killed by men they know in the USA every day, on average.

In the UK, 2024 shows 50 women killed by men they know. Its only September.

Worldwide, more than 5 females are murdered by members of their own families EVERY SINGLE GODDAMED DAY. Fuck knows how many are murdered by strangers.

What lessons can we learn from this?

How about, male violence is a scourge to both sexes and females wanting single sex spaces free from males is so fucking understandable that you'd have to be a complete psychopath not to understand.

Are YOU a psychopath?

Both articles are from Friday, posting about them because they are current.

What is "fruity" meant to mean here exactly, are you using a homophobic slur?

Have you noticed what your user name is?

It's your user name doofus!😂

The assumption that fruity = homophobia certainly adds weight to the theory that the OP is North American.

MsNeis · 21/09/2024 06:11

Laws don't kill people. People (mostly men) kill people.
Terrible cases, and disgusting use of those cases by OP to prove some kind of baseless point.

Hairyesterdaygonetoday · 21/09/2024 07:16

OP, shouldn’t you be doing your homework or out playing with your friends?

Playing outdoors would give you some fresh air. Doing your homework might help you avoid such embarrassing mistakes as In Swansea, England.

Still, reading this thread would give you some much-needed facts to balance the bizarre disinformation you have picked up. But I don’t expect you bother to read facts.

That's very disingenuous coming from the kind of person who thinks it's ok to use the word "queer".

You have the word Apple in your username pet. It's a reference to that. HTH

Alltheprettyseahorses · 21/09/2024 08:40

I wonder if the OP has ever posted on trans boards about all the incidents of women and girls being murdered, raped, sexually abused and assaulted by transpeople? Probably not.

SinnerBoy · 21/09/2024 08:50

No, I shouldn't think so at all.

I’ve also wondered about this huge disconnect. For all of those intense lady-feels, it’s a complete wonder that TRAs seem to lack any consideration or empathy for actual women.

If TW were women you’d expect them to be more concerned about the very real issues women face, particularly as violence against women and girls is a very pressing concern right here in the UK right now (let alone other countries like Georgia).

popeydokey · 21/09/2024 08:53

Of all the things posted on this thread and the OP responds a post about murdered women by not understanding an extremely obvious reference to his own username!

Come on, son. At least you've shown you're reading and ignoring us because you don't have a response.

And if you do respond it won't be to engage with any point made. We know. You know. Why even bother with the pretence? Does it feel good to post stuff most adults cringe at?

Nah. OP has demonstrated multiple times that they don’t care about women unless they’re the special male types of women

Apple = fruit. HTH

Now, about those figures of MVAWG in the same post - any thoughts?

Nope, didn't think so. Ignore that and go straight to an accusation of homophobia cos you don't understand basic words.

Priorities noted.

“No need to soften it. You were bang on with the blunt version. Why are these two incidents of male on male violence actually noteworthy? Holy caste much?”

Noteworthy because attacks by males against males who identify as transwomen are extremely rare in the UK.

Unlike attacks by males against women. Which are not at all rare.

Fair point on the use of the word noteworthy.

(Although I'd argue the trans identifier means next to nothing. It's male on male. Common as muck)

I would correct my verbiage by stating that I feel that even if I agreed with classification you've applied as being of import, common/daily atrocities are more worthy of attention than rare ones.

I know this will be deleted but you are a clown. Your username contains the word 'Apple'. Homophobic, my left boot - get a grip of yourself.
