Trans activists monitoring mumsnet

Seriestwo · 07/09/2024 10:27

A particularly diligent trans identified male transactivist says there is a network monitoring “far right” activity on here.

which might explain why some
posters get suspended for saying things that some people find challenging to hear.

I’d like to keep hearing from TinselAngel. How do we protect her freedom of speech, expression, and you could probably argue association, from being limited by people who are known to harass women IRL?

I doubt that Fred monitors Pedants' Corner - "Christ, you must not of been on there for sometime then".

YellowDayToday · 07/09/2024 13:54

Women! Know your place you are only allowed to talk about being pregnant and giving birth! Anything out of these parameters is Far Right!!!

TheClogLady · 07/09/2024 14:15

Under Zir’s Eye 🫡

TheClogLady · 07/09/2024 14:18

We mourn the fallen and hope for new posters to join and keep passing the flame.

Or as I like to call it, ‘the antiwang baton’.

InvisibleBuffy · 07/09/2024 14:21

Must be a sad kind of life really: sitting at home, desperately scouring mumsnet for anything that could be wrongthink if you squint hard enough, fingers repeatedly jabbing the report button.

MissEsmeWatson · 07/09/2024 14:29

Far right my arse.

And kittens, don't forget kittens!

terryleather · 07/09/2024 14:38

"Far right" seems to have taken over from "transphobic" which used to be the accusation of choice around here when I first found FWR a decade ago. It's an interesting development.

OrangeCrusher · 07/09/2024 14:47

I saw that on X earlier and laughed. Honestly, I’ve been on mumsnet for over 20 years now and it never fails to surprise me how women especially mothers are perceived and expected to behave and are judged. That randoms have the audacity to monitor or police women is nothing new. They think we’re some homogeneous group of nice little ladies. They forgot mothers can be educated, articulate and have opinions. So, monitor away weirdos you can’t stop women from meeting, sharing opinions and talking. They’ll be calling us witches next.

CautiousLurker · 07/09/2024 15:07

Intrigued by the idea some of my posts may have been screenshot and shared elsewhere. Am aware that I have a rather favourable GC reputation in GPChat (prompted to check after another thread raised it): apparently I engage in nuanced and thoughtful discussion and my political leanings are not clear, which reassures me as I worry occasionally that I might actually be ‘far right’ in the current political climate (the idea of being in any way right wing, appals me, frankly).

But I do wonder whether it ends up on TRA sites where my DD might see it and work out it is me commenting.

Deadhouseplant · 07/09/2024 15:11

Has Sandy stopped monitoring FWR now her son has retired from cycling?

Oh is this like when parents tell small children that they better be good because Santa's watching?
Is Fred Santa?
If so, I have a grievance about a sinister walking talking doll circa christmas 1983........

Is Fred Santa?

Well he did have a large sack on show at that debate at the IEA last year.

I didn't know Bridges (?) had retired from competitive (?) cycling. When did that happen?

ETA: earlier this year, I was aware that EB was taking British Cycling to court which is why I'm surprised.

When the bullshit is subtracted headlines are;
"Males seek to curb the freedoms of women"
"Males seek to silence women"
"Some men HATE all women"
They have been present in every generation, depraved controlling Mummy haters.

Seriestwo · 07/09/2024 15:30

controlling, or attempting to control, the thoughts and views of randomers on this site must be exhausting.

10 million users, right? I wonder how many of us are on the Wrong Think Board?

More than one hairy hand can report without risking RSI, I bet.

I can't remember who it was but some organisation referred to Mumsnet earlier this week as an agitator group. I think that is quite telling. They cannot admit that Mumsnet is an internet forum with millions of diverse users, the majority of whom reject the trans ideology. That would mean they may have to consider that outside their tiny bubble, lots of people do not agree with them, and that the people who do not agree with them are quite ordinary, reasonable people, not frothing loons. No, instead we have to be a group of radicals, a last outpost of bigotry, when the outpost is actually them.

They can monitor all they like and get replies deleted, etc. It makes no difference. Women know what a woman is, they can't change that, which is exactly what their problem is.

EdithStourton · 07/09/2024 15:51

Right wing
😂😂😂
They're really struggling if they're throwing that one around.

Top tip, monitors: If you accuse everyone you disagree with of being 'far right', the term loses all meaning. When the real, serious fascists come along, you might not see them for what they really are.

Boiledbeetle · 07/09/2024 18:03

MarieDeGournay · 07/09/2024 11:06

Indeed. I for one am quite happy to share my recipe for the perfect lemon drizzle cake with anyone, even monitoring TRAsWink

You post a lemon drizzle cake recipe and you will be dead to me. Dead I say!!!!!

Unless you hide it behind a sensitivity screen and put a trigger warning in the post!

With regards the OPs at least when Fred does come on here and post Fred posts under Fred's own name!

ApocalipstickNow · 07/09/2024 18:40

Well, how on earth do you live as your authentic self if you’re not stopping women agreeing with you?

(when your authentic self is a misogynistic twat.)

MoveToParis · 07/09/2024 18:49

I must be a weirdo because I always engage the young Mormon men in conversation and say to them “I am in my fifties, and my advice is, go out, drink lots of beer and sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you”. And actually I give the same advice to our self appointed Red Guards- It’s Saturday evening, go out, drink lots of beer and find a nice consenting adult to have you.

All this wasted time getting your knickers in a twist because some people won’t pretend a lie is the truth?
Get off the internet and get a life.

You're not down with the kids like me - I would suggest doing some K and bagging a furry 😉

But I am only 50 😉

MoveToParis · 07/09/2024 19:14

i bow to your wizzdom.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 07/09/2024 19:51

LMAO. They hate Mumsnet because they've got mummy issues and have never grown up properly.
