Trans activists monitoring mumsnet

Seriestwo · 07/09/2024 10:27

A particularly diligent trans identified male transactivist says there is a network monitoring “far right” activity on here.

which might explain why some
posters get suspended for saying things that some people find challenging to hear.

I’d like to keep hearing from TinselAngel. How do we protect her freedom of speech, expression, and you could probably argue association, from being limited by people who are known to harass women IRL?

This has been going on for years it's nothing to worry about really

Indeed. I for one am quite happy to share my recipe for the perfect lemon drizzle cake with anyone, even monitoring TRAsWink

PeachyKeane · 07/09/2024 11:08

Just another example of men wanting to control women's speech. They'd like us covered head to toe and silent.

They are so fucking wierd!

poppyzbrite4 · 07/09/2024 11:08

People say a lot of things on the internet. These people obviously don't know what far right means, so I doubt they're much of a threat.

Iamiams · 07/09/2024 11:13

Most people here are left leaning. My grandparents were trade unionists fighting for the rights of women in factories. They would be incredulous and horrified at the state of women’s rights now.

user1471538275 · 07/09/2024 11:13

It's best just to ignore them and carry on being noisy and opinionated women.

They simply aren't that important to us or anyone else.

It's like toddlers struggling with their emotions, best to limit attention and allow them to develop their own coping skills - they will get there eventually.

Adding in the accusation of being "far right" is just the current way to try and discredit those who won't bow to the overlords and accept their demands and pseudo realities.

There are also those who identify as being on "our side" that appear to gain something from firing around the "far right" accusation too.

Bit of a kerfuffle on Twitter..

We can't. It's because she's an invaluable voice that so much effort goes into she's trying to prevent her from supporting other women.

This is a commercial site. This is one of the last remaining places on the internet where women can gather and have these conversations. Of course there are people who want to put an end to that and stop women gathering so they exert their supervision of us.

FWR goes through periods where we lose lots of excellent posters. We mourn the fallen and hope for new posters to join and keep passing the flame.

People who want to spend time 'monitoring Mumsnet' presumably have not enough to do and low self esteem. You never know, they might learn something 💐 [ruffles hair of nearest monitor]

SirChenjins · 07/09/2024 11:29

It’s been going on for years, hasn’t it? I particularly enjoy their claims that we’re right wing as it shows they’ve completely run out of fresh ideas.

I bet Fred has a penis beaker on his bedside table.

I think so.

OP. Wallace has an account and pops up regularly enough to ensure we are well informed.

Wallace is not the only one. It has always been this way as it a public forum.

But that is not something I want to know.

I work for a network of people”

Do we think this is paid work or just a hobby obsession.

My money’s firmly on the latter - probably from their bedroom where fresh air is banned and the dirty dishes are breeding a particularly virulent strain of mould.

Lovelyview · 07/09/2024 12:17

I don't know if the person you refer to contributes to the discussions. I welcome people coming on these threads to put a different point of view because I think it highlights how weak their arguments are when you drill down into what they're actually saying. We won't change their minds but we absolutely can set out the arguments for single sex spaces and show people who are interested what TRAs are actually demanding. Whenever I ask them 'Do you think that women should be able to request single sex spaces?' no-one has ever dared to say 'no' even when they are trying to argue that women shouldn't be allowed single sex spaces.

OuterSpaceCadet · 07/09/2024 12:20

Hey spare a thought for these poor guys (it's a gender neutral term, remember!) who are used to being able to physically intimidate women. Must be so difficult for them seeing this female dominated site. It must hurt even more that they're not banned so they can't rage about that. They're welcome. Yet still they can't dominate!

Note to the monitors:

The quickest way to get society to accept there are no important differences between the sexes is to get males - of all gender id and none - to stop using their physical and structural advantages to abuse women. You first, dudes.

Yes, I think you are probably right.

Wise women’s voices are not commercially viable. It has always been this way.

It’s so fucking depressing that people who are not intellectual titans can so easily silence women who actually have something interesting and important to say.

Absolutely, the same people were trying to paint the recent rallies against two-tier policing as "far right" simply because people were waving the St George's Cross.

ZeldaFighter · 07/09/2024 12:29

Dear Freda,

I am in my 50s and have been a feminist all my life. I have always voted Labour since 1992 and I always vote for a progressive candidate in every election. I am pro-choice, anti-death penalty, anti-racist, pro-gun control, etc etc

I don't hate trans people and I am not even near right, let alone far right.

But I saw 6ft 4" tall Lia Thomas compete against women in the US swimming competition. That is men taking women's stuff. It is what I have fought against most of my life.

And it sets a precedent. What else can men who say they are women take from women? Women only shortlists? Women only domestic violence refuges? Prizes, scholarships, physical safety?

Trans people need to accept that their demands for "inclusion " conflict with women's needs for safety and privacy. We need to talk about how this is managed for everyone's benefit. Calling leftwing feminists far right doesn't help. Stop fighting and start engaging.

RocketPanda · 07/09/2024 13:21

Oh is this like when parents tell small children that they better be good because Santa's watching?
Is Fred Santa?
If so, I have a grievance about a sinister walking talking doll circa christmas 1983........

Namechangeforadhd · 07/09/2024 13:42

'far right' is just the equivalent of the 80s 'loony left' trope, and is basically meaningless.
Also, they can monitor all they want. Males and their handmaids have always wanted to monitor females and still do. No surprise there.
