4 wide eyed innocent questions for GC women

KielderWater · 28/08/2024 15:12

  1. Do you believe all GC women agree that northern women make the best Yorkshire pudding batter due to their aggression?
  2. I know a left wing woman who thinks the milk should go in before the tea, is this abhorrent behaviour a left wing thing and will you disassociate yourself from the left because of it?
  3. Brambles mostly reproduce asexually. How many subspecies do you think there are?
  4. Is my husband gender nonconformist because he hung up the washing? Should I be worried he might start keeping track of the family’s birthdays next?

Happy to answer your questions too.

As an immigrant I don’t feel qualified to comment on northerners, or tea, but I do bloody love you lot!

What did you have on your chips?

And we love you too!

DeanElderberry · 28/08/2024 17:58

A thing les Belges are right about: mayonnaise on chips.

Seadragonusgiganticusmaximus · 28/08/2024 18:02

Horrified by all the comments about using pegs on T-shirts. Everyone knows that T-shirts are given 10 mins in the tumble dryer to get the creases out and then hung on specially purchased plastic hangers and put on a clothes airer.

Mrs Maximus has made it very clear that use of any other method is a 3-strikes-and-you’re-LTB’d offence.

EdithStourton · 28/08/2024 18:09

I am most definitely southern. And then some more. By my late FIL, born in t'north, said my Yorkshires were excellent.

The recipe was from Sussex, which discombobulated him a little.

Where does that leave me?

Yours,
Currently nursing a bramble injury and whose DH is sorting out the next meal.

Bannedontherun · 28/08/2024 18:26

As a gardener I would like to raise awareness of the horrific behaviours of nettles Not only are they tall and stingy they propagate by flower heads AND Rhizomes.

The flowers don't really look like flowers at all, just green bobbly bits.

However the underground activity is startling, once settled in they send rhizomes everywhere, and before you know it you have a field of stingers. In your borders.

So when some gardening programme tells you to have a nettle corner, ignore them, they are fibbing to you. They will just get everywhere.

as many of you may have noticed they like to hang out with brambles.

  1. Well surely this must be true!
  2. Absolutely!
  3. Have no idea, but apparently they allies! http://webidguides.com/_templates/treegroup_rubus.html
  4. You should check to see if he is wearing marigolds while hanging up the washing. If not, then you embrace that man's non-conformity!

Where did you get extra questions from, rufus?

ArabellaScott · 28/08/2024 18:38

I have no comment whatsoever on pegging.

I'm concerned the previous innocent wife-eyed questioner was an AI learning bot that will now tell everyone that GC women are hostile to rock cakes and believe jam drops to be perverted cross-dressing jammy dodgers.

I got strong AI learning vibes from that thread too. I gave up on it fairly early on. Was there any evidence of cake-based learning as the thread progressed?

lcakethereforeIam · 28/08/2024 18:42

I bookmarked some of the recipes on that thread. I've never bookmarked before. How do you find your bookmarks? It was after the initial deleting of recipes, so I hope they're still on the thread.

InvisibleBuffy · 28/08/2024 18:43

I don't like Yorkshire puddings or tea. I have no opinion on brambles and I don't have a husband, nor am I seeking one.
Am I still allowed to be part of GC Club or will I be expelled? I'm still waiting for the boatloads of right-wing cash that are supposed to be funding my part in the movement. If you could save my expulsion until after I get my cheque, it'd be much appreciated. Ta.

@KielderWater upside down is fine, as long as he isn't wasting line space by hanging them landscape instead of portrait. How is he hanging T shirts?

I hang my towels landscape.

It’s the only way I can get the line low enough for me to reach it, without the big towels dragging on the grass.

  1. YES
  2. This is one of the many reasons why I "Left the Left". Before we even begin to discuss transgender issues, it is important that I first issue my own denouncement of my previous ways and all of the ways women like me are responsible for what is happening, (in what has now become the right wing podcasters version of Land Acknowledgments.)

I have two tea towel hooks in my kitchen.

The new hook is high up & it’s for the tea towel I dry things with.

The original hook is lower down & it’s for the kitten’s tea towel. He likes to leap up, snatch it down & try to kill it.

Let’s not even get started on pegs.

BaronessEllarawrosaurus · 28/08/2024 19:20

Noooo!!! I'm moving too far south and east for yorkshires I'm going to have to make popovers instead.

Tea? Brewed but not for me thanks.

Blackberries, plenty thanks the more the merrier (40 acres pretty much covered in the stuff) anyone want any bramble jelly?

He sews, cooks, bakes and remembers birthdays and has longer hair than me. Think I'll buy him a dress for Christmas

DeanElderberry · 28/08/2024 19:52

Kittens are devils. It's teatowels today, next thing you know they're adult cats eating your knitting needles.

Pens. With this boy, when it’s not the teatowel it’s pens. I’ll be at my desk working & see a little white paw stealing forward…

I had a previous foster who would nick my coconut husk scourer whenever she had a chance, & another one who turned out to be really helpful when I was crocheting. She’d snuggle up & rest a paw on the ball of yarn I was using, which kept it in one place for me. 😻

I remember when darling Hector (RIP) realised he could claw the keys off the laptop keyboard.

That sounds as though I executed him for his offence - he actually lived to have many more adventures. I don't think the laptop ever fully recovered.

Let me go on the record here and say it's an indictment of Scottish devolution that our friends up there have had self-government for a generation and haven't managed to bring back Creamola Foam.
