4 wide eyed innocent questions for GC women

KielderWater · 28/08/2024 15:12

  1. Do you believe all GC women agree that northern women make the best Yorkshire pudding batter due to their aggression?
  2. I know a left wing woman who thinks the milk should go in before the tea, is this abhorrent behaviour a left wing thing and will you disassociate yourself from the left because of it?
  3. Brambles mostly reproduce asexually. How many subspecies do you think there are?
  4. Is my husband gender nonconformist because he hung up the washing? Should I be worried he might start keeping track of the family’s birthdays next?

Happy to answer your questions too.

Thanks for the heads up!

No worries, so really we're talking about a heterosexual couple, although they both bang on about how extremely "queer" they are.

ApocalipstickNow · 28/08/2024 16:32

Curry sauce hasn’t been mentioned yet as a chip topper…. Is it cultural appropriation? If so who is appropriating who?

I've seen 'samosa butties' for sale in the Midlands. I guess that's fusion?

I am concerned about the change in northern men though - they are going a bit wrong - DD's BF asked her 'what do you call a round bit of bread with filling?' - she said a Bap- obviously correct but will also accept barm cake, roll, etc

This Manchester born youth said 'no ... it's a MUFFIN' a MUFFIN? Something is going on there - be warned

He was correct (for Manchester).

See also (plain) teacakes.

AlisonDonut · 28/08/2024 16:43

Frozen yorkies thanks
Coffee not tea
Thornless blackberries rule, we have 3 different varieties. If you are going to be spiked make it matter with a Japanese Wineberry at least.
Washing up and clothes is his job in this house.

First time I ever came across curry sauce was when I ventured from North Wales to the Valleys, over 50 years ago.

Stunned, I was.

Mind you, we'd got cheesy chips before I left Gogland in the late 70s.

@KielderWater upside down is fine, as long as he isn't wasting line space by hanging them landscape instead of portrait. How is he hanging T shirts?

More importantly, how is his peg-use efficiency? Does he use 3 or 4 pegs to peg 2 adjacent t-shirts to the line?

ArabellaScott · 28/08/2024 17:06

Whither Baxters?! All that way fur a chicken?

well, to be fair, this depends on whether there's a scarcity of pegs

GailBlancheViola · 28/08/2024 17:09

I have coloured pegs I ensure that there is no colour mixing of pegs on individual garments.

That sounds great. I feel inspired to try one.

I've always been fascinated by how magnolias pollinate - they existed before bees so developed to be pollinated by beetles

https://gardens.si.edu/learn/blog/the-botany-of-magnolias/

Mind blown!

Bannedontherun · 28/08/2024 17:34

I have a magnolia it flowers before it has any leaves.

throwinthetowel · 28/08/2024 17:39

🤣

Snowypeaks · 28/08/2024 17:39

I'm as far from a nerd as can be, but when I skim read articles like that one about the magnolias, I can fully understand why some people become utterly obsessed with brambles or magnolias, or beetles, etc. The more you find out, the more astonishing it gets.

TWETMIRF · 28/08/2024 17:45

Tea is disgusting
The north starts from the Tamar, it's all called upcountry
Yorkshires are best when they are stodgy, I don't want it to be mostly air

SickofSoup · 28/08/2024 17:47

As an immigrant I don’t feel qualified to comment on northerners, or tea, but I do bloody love you lot!

BabaYetu · 28/08/2024 17:50

Magnolias are properly ancient - like sharks!

  1. yes, it's the unquenchable rage that makes our Yorkshire puds rise well
  2. I don't care, I prefer coffee
  3. Asexual reproduction is the future! 999/1000 stick insects are female and reproduce successfully; does that mean if I go on a crash diet, so can I (if clownfish can be co-opted into justifying human lifestyle choices, why can't stick insects?)
  4. As long as he's pegging them out at all, you've got nothing to worry about. It's those mimsy ones using a tumble drier on a good drying day you need to worry about
BabaYetu · 28/08/2024 17:52

Chip condiments - where do we stand on Poutine? Can the once-great nation of Canada be redeemed?
