Words fail I'm so angry, but by god she is brave.

News outlets are being so vague about this, I can't understand the actual facts of the matter.

Khelif was banned for "high" (standard male?) levels of testosterone, but this ban was overturned? Does that mean that the testosterone levels fell within a "normal" (female?) range, or that they don't care about testosterone any more?

What other "gender tests" are there, that have supposedly been carried out, but which no one will give any details of?

How are people on this board so certain this is a man, despite the fact that I can't find anything anywhere (on mainstream news) that even hints at the fact that it's a man? BBC commentator has said they feel sorry for Khelif being "caught up in the middle of all this"?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the papers don't seem to be saying that Khelif is trans. This isn't a man that became a woman. This is an inter-sex person. Where do we draw the line then? If somebody is born with female parts but later ends up, upon testing, to having a Y chromosome and testosterone, where do we stand?

To me this is muddy waters. This is not a woman fighting a born-male. Maybe I misunderstood though?

This is the outlet that broke the story. No testosterone testing, only chromosome testing on two separate occasions. Both athletes found to be male - standard XY chromosomes. Both athletes accepted the finding of the tests.

I'm just going to keep posting this on all the threads about this so you can see for yourself what actually happened. Which is, a MAN punched a woman in the head. Like Semenya they are well aware that they are men. They have been chromosomally tested and accepted disqualification previously due to not qualifying for women's events.

I was similarly quite innocently sorry for Semenya, someone with the same condition, until I looked further at the evidence and discovered that he has lived as a man for years, has fathered children, and is only interested in being a 'woman' in the lucrative opportunities offered to him and to his sponsors by exploiting the advantage of his DSD to thrash women in women's sports.

More likely, what it meant, as with Caster Semenya, was that his maleness became very obvious early on, but because the birth certificate was recorded with 'female' that is what their legal status is.

Caster Semenya always played with the boys, dressed like the boys, went through male puberty; and in fact seems to have a very stereotypical view of women as being too soft andf silly .

He was born with a DSD of the male ( XY) variety - but his sex was recorded as female.

The papers are doing everything possible to obscure the facts in many cases, some have their hands tied by the IOC.

Chromosomes are what determines sex. There are only two sexes. There is no 'gamut'. Males born with Male DSDs often have ambiguous external genitalia - which leads them to be recorded as 'female'. But the essential 'maleness' becomes obvious before too long, and certainly by the time it comes to puberty.

Are you not aware yet how the Daily Mail works? If this was a genetic, biological male, they'd have that splashed everywhere. Why muddy the waters if a man just beat up a woman?

DSDs are disorders of either male or of female development. DSDs do not muddy the fact of sex, but they do end up reinforcing it.

Most media sources are captured and bound by rules of reporting whe it comes to this matter. This is why they obscure the full truth with evasions and half facts.
