Words fail I'm so angry, but by god she is brave.
Personally I feel sick and 'triggered' it reminds me of the first time an ex punched me on the thigh, I couldnt get over how much it hurt or the enormous bruise from knee to hip. I know there is a general thread on this but its so important it deserves multiple threads. I hope Carinis decision to stop the fight so very publicly makes a difference.
Meanwhile Khelif crows “I am here for gold,” “I will fight anybody, I will fight them all.”
Not the REMOTEST hint of sportsmanlike conduct.
I vote we write to VIiner en masse and lay some responsibility at her feet.
Actually EVERY editor, The Indy NYT WAPO etc
I am incandescent

DM's piece is lamentable.

It was claimed Khelif was a transgender athlete now competing in the women's category, after she forced her first opponent, Italian Angela Carini, to quit in the opening stages of their contest.

Semenya has a condition which means her body naturally produces higher levels of testosterone than normal for women.

Why spread this wrong information that will only add to people's confusion and misunderstanding?

For clicks. To annoy both sides and confuse the general public. With the exception of a very few individual journalists, the mainstream press - left, right or centrist - is not interested in helping us or informing the public or investigating or correcting injustice. Just money.

I don't think either of those two statements is incorrect. Yes, it was initially claimed that Khelif was transgender though this was denied by the IOC, and if Khelif has XY chromosomes they probably do have a condition that causes them to naturally produce more testosterone.

I don't agree. If I were to, I would see little to be gained by repeating the error in connection with MP's comments. And the second comment was about Semenya rather than Khelif. Incorrect either way and confusing the issues will not help the general reader understand Pinsent's remarks.

The interview with Georges Cazorla, one of Imane Khelif's 'entourage' in Le Point magazine has been a game-changer, pardon the pun. In it he admits that IK was found to have 'problems with her chromosomes' (his words) in 2023
Now there are only two kinds of chromosomes, X and Y, so if an alleged XX woman has 'problems with her chromosomes', it's more than likely that 'she' has XY chromosomes, and is therefore male.

Anybody trying to make sense of the Khelif, and by extension Lin, case really needs to read this interview first, there's nothing like direct evidence, in reported speech, from one of the central participants, published in an established, reliable and verifiable source, to cut through the nonsense.

Here it is, translation provided by eatfigs on another thread:

More testosterone than female people but the normal range for male people. The falsity is the comparator used.

I'm a regular listener to the trawl and really like Marina Purkiss and Jemma Forte but I'm disappointed that they mention this in their latest episode and despite admitting that they are late to the party and having plenty of time to research, they have gone with the "she's born a woman, raised a woman and her passport says woman" narrative. Makes me wonder about the rest of their journalism.
