If you are so fragile that a piece of crotchet stating a basic fact upsets you then perhaps you shouldn't be out and about in your community.

It is like saying cabbages are plants. Or giraffes are mammals. Nothing you can sensibly argue with.

I would quite like one or several of these in my town. The place is full of bloody rainbow nonsense. My gay friend can't bear it, he says it's gone much too far in recent years.

Not the point of the thread but it reminded me that whenever yarn-bombing, postbox toppers etc come up I wonder what happens to them.

Do the "bombers" come and retrieve them or are they just left to get manky until eventually the council pick them up and put them in landfill? I suppose many/most are synthetic yarn so not very environmentally friendly.

How do we determine what messages are allowed or not allowed, and be fair to everyone in society? Maybe a postbox just isn't the place to be spreading political messaging.

Well personally I would want the rainbow toppers banned as I just don't see postboxes as the right place for divisive messaging.

Pay for a billboard and put your rainbow on that.

But some people are anti abortion, they are allowed to say it.
I can choose to ignore or try to teach them, but their belief isnt against any law.

Now I agree postboxes wouldn't be my media of choice, but if anyone can use them, then anyone interested enough, should. Within the law.

FFS, we have Pride everything. I have given up reading emails from my local arts centre because they are so puffed with pride. (Why can’t they doa women’s month where we celebrate female film, drama etc.)

Presumably yarn bombing is like street art. It's not approved in advance and can be removed by pretty much anyone. Pride or GC, it's a free for all as it should be.
