Grin

This is great news and shows Labour is going in the right direction imo. Bye bye L'OJ

I'm very surprised this was deemed newsworthy however 😂

Owen Jones

Owen Jones urges Labour voters to back other parties

How will they survive now?!

gubbinsy · 21/03/2024 16:05

Way to help the Tories! Seriously - with no PR, encouraging people to not vote labour when not enough will vote for the other parties allows the Tories back in. I get having principles and he should do what he thinks is right but if loads of left wing voters do this then they will be responsible for more Tory rule.

MrsFinkelstein · 21/03/2024 16:06

I had assumed he had left ages ago.

I think it's likely he'll be joining the Corbyn campaign, so couldn't have done so as a LP member still.

I still think he's pissed they have been ignoring his rants so far and haven't kicked him out.

MILTOBE · 21/03/2024 16:08

He has the most annoying face and even more annoying opinions. I'm glad to vote for a party he won't support. He's the main reason I won't pay a subscription to The Guardian.

Yeah me too. But I think it might reassure a lot of voters that the last vestiges of Corbyn have gone. 🤞.

He might join the SNP, now he's writing for The National. 😎

Froodwithatowel · 21/03/2024 16:12

Suddenly I find I and LOJ agree on something.

Possibly for not quite the same reasons. 😂

JanesLittleGirl · 21/03/2024 16:30

What's the expression? Mind the door doesn't hit you in the arse on your way out?

He's such an odious little git. I'm delighted Labour are rid of him.

VenetiaHallisWellPosh · 21/03/2024 16:37

He somehow thinks him leaving is SIGNIFICANT. No, OJ, it really isn't.

Doubtful given that Mridul Wadhwa left the SNP because even they weren't quite enough women hating. Scottish Greens seems to be the natural province of men like LOJ.

They haven't. But maybe more will follow him.

CountFucula · 21/03/2024 18:16

I’m sure he’ll be delighted this is being reported. He announced it in the guardian this morning with a nauseating list of his left wing credentials - like a catalogue of ‘that’s nothing, when I were a lad me grandma went on the Jarrow marches’ - but it seemed to sink without much comment. I mean really, who cares? He’s not part of the future of the Labour Party: good.

RayonSunrise · 21/03/2024 18:23

Well, that can only make Labour look more electable.

fiskalita · 21/03/2024 18:25

Bye bye ickle misogynist. I hope he enjoys his slide into obscurity as much as I will.

user8800 · 21/03/2024 18:25

He cosplays being poor. Tedious little woman hating tosser

Maybe I will vote Labour after all.....

LittleBearPad · 21/03/2024 18:26

Oh well

Things can only get better

It's not an airport, Owen ...

😂

Very true.

showmethegin · 21/03/2024 18:43

I can't bear OJ, think he's an odious misogynist but I did watch the video about why he left and I agree with pretty much every word. (Even a stopped clock is the right time twice a day).

I am horrified at the direction of Labour at the moment as are many people I know, for many reasons that don't even include the sex and gender issues. Their policy on Gaza for one is abhorrent.

I won't be voting for anyone this year; I have never ever done that before. I may vote for an independent if one goes up that I like the look of.

I completely disagree with OJs stance on trans issues etc, but i agree with you, Labour really have lost their way. The Gaza issue has confirmed it for me, and I am willing to forget any other issue when a genocide is being carried out in front of our eyes.

It’s not a genocide. Don’t cheapen the term.
