And Fiona Bruce told Professor Sir Robert Winston that "a lot of people would disagree" when he stated categorically that you can't change sex. What a ridiculous position for a discussion show host to take.

Though funnily enough ‘a lot of people’ aren’t one of the world’s leading experts in fertility, reproductive health and gynaecology. Imagine being so arrogant and deluded that you’d try to argue about human biology with Sir Robert. The brass neck of these TRA’s and handmaidens really is breathtaking

Especially when we remember India’s original choice of name was Joanne.

I think JKR is everything IW wishes they were - talented, respected, dignified, classy and IW can’t stand that despite everything they’ve put themself through, they’ll never be any of those things.

💯

What the absolute F? Professor Robert Winston, eminent biologist over decades, and to be told that? I hate the BBC, if it wasn't for the fact my husband watches it (he's severely disabled) I'd cancel the licence and watch DVDs, and subscriptions over the internet.

Oh you LOVED him, didn't you, BBC luvvies, twenty years ago, with the series he did when he revisited babies, children etc to see how their lives were, a longitudinal, public survey, and the human genome project

I wish there was some mechanism to remove from the lives of people like Fiona Bruce the benefits on her life from people like Winston's work.

Don't believe in genetics? OK, no DNA tests are available to you, no information will be available to you regarding genetics, you will not be allowed to report in news articles that refer to DNA, if a crime happens to you, sorry no forensic tests are available to you.

Take away and bar the knowledge systematically, and the opportunities that come from that knowledge and they might start to get the message.

Richard Dawkins, the same, on a plane back from New Zealand, where he interviewed Maori about the prayers they said before take off. They genuinely, fundamentally, believed if they didn't pray, the plane wouldn't stay up. Dawkins said, "What about the design of the plane, the fuel, the thrust, the skill of the pilot..." No. None of that mattered to them.

"But the plane won't fly without fuel."

"We will pray to the Sky God."

Clearly we are heading to a new dark age where scientifically provable facts can be dismissed on feelings or political or religious whim, the latter being held on equal or higher regard.

💯.

Forgot link. 33 minutes.

I’m surprised that Ella Whelan’s eyes didn’t roll completely out of her head during that episode.

Professor Sir Robert Winston

😂 facts are facts

BonnyBo · 10/03/2024 11:43

Jonathan isn’t that far removed from Joanne so I can’t say I find it that sinister, although all the excess and aggressive tweeting is a different matter all together.

SabrinaThwaite · 10/03/2024 11:45

SamW98 · 10/03/2024 09:10

Yep - IW is definitely obsessed with JKR. She’s single white (fe)male

Has anyone else wondered if IW chose to report to Northumbria Police, because of the way the treated the female NUFC fan? Let's hope that their behaviour regarding JKR means that they've not only learned, but are applying the lesson.

Winlloughby lives in Newcastle.

I did say it’s the UK’s very own Windy City …

SabrinaThwaite · 10/03/2024 11:54

Meant to add that Northumbria Police covers Newcastle.

Do any of these 'attention seeking time wasters', stalk gender critical men?

I know there are probably fewer of those, but they are certainly out there. Do they get these unrelenting demands for attention?

I mean, look at the TRAs we have on here. Constantly seeking women's engagement. Often in the most tedious fashion, repeating themselves and plopping.

Is there something of a scab picking issue going on? Is it a mummy thing? Because it's not to influence anyone. It's only ever negative attention.

Do they do it to men, too?

My guess is no. The funny thing is, women on here are copping it for the homophobia and transphobia of men. We have men with cross sex gender identity saying they are scared of (other) men and only feel comfortable in female spaces and company.
There is a huge problem with men, I completely agree. Too many of them apparently can't mind their own business, keep their hands to themselves, or accept other men who don't conform to bullshit regressive toxic male stereotypes.
But why go on about it to the mainly female posters on here?

Isn't this because the BBC are so captured by trans extremism that they've now abandoned their responsibility to"inform, educate & entertain" in favour of pushing the conspiracy theory that sex change is possible and men can magically become women? So stating facts - that transwomen are men who "transition" is now unsayable as Justin Webb found out last week. You only have to look at the tortuous corporate double speak below as they try to turn a fact in to "one side of a debate":

BBC upholds complaint against Today presenter Justin Webb for saying trans women are males

The BBC has upheld a complaint against Today presenter Justin Webb after he said "trans women, in other males".

The funny thing is, women on here are copping it for the homophobia and transphobia of men.

Rules of misogyny.

  1. Women are responsible for what men do.
  2. Women saying no to men is a hate crime.
  3. Women speaking for themselves are exclusionary and selfish.
  4. Women’s opinions are violence against men, thus male violence against women is justified.
  5. Women and Feminism must be useful to men or they are worthless.
  6. Women who go around being female AT men by menstruating and breastfeeding babies deserve punishment.
  7. Women should always be grateful to men for everything.
  8. Men are whatever men say they are and women are whatever men say they are.
  9. Men always know the “real reasons” for everything women do and say.
10. The worst thing about male violence is that it makes men look bad. 11. Whatever women suffer from, it is worse when it happens to men. 12. Women’s ability to recognize male behavior patterns is misandry. 13. Angry women are crazy. Angry men have trouble expressing themselves. 14. Women have all the rights they need: The right to remain silent. 15. Men are the default human. Women are strange subhuman others.

I am trying to find out, isn't Newcastle upon Tyne a different entity to Northumberland?

Yes, but the Northumbria Force area covers Newcastle. It reaches from Berwick and the Border down through Sunderland and up to the Co Durham border. My local force is North Tyneside, also part of Northumbria and as far as I know, unlike the Newcastle lot, they don't have rainbows and trans flags on their vehicles.

SabrinaThwaite · 10/03/2024 13:30

I think the gloves are now well and truly off.

JKR vs IW
JKR vs IW
Brefugee · 10/03/2024 13:36

Why now though? is it because of the WPATH Files? or is it that someone has said "look, IW is harassing you and we have enough evidence"? i can't work out why she'd do that.

The birthing parent post was excellent though.

Cunt is an easy word to spell. You only have to remember four letters and get them in the right order. Seems to be tra/mra word of the week.

Is Hollywood a new bod on the block or is Windy using up Windy's supply of burner phones?

Word of the week not being misogynistic or derogatory towards women as a biological sex class in any way. It's always funny how women's biology isn't supposed to matter but is the worst thing a man can think to call one?

Professor Sir Robert Winston

I saw this particular episode.

IIRC there was a first year drama student arguing the toss with Sir R at one point, because obviously people who dress up to pretend to be someone else on a stage or in front of a camera know more about sex and gender than world-respected biologists who have written papers, made ground-breaking advances in fertility treatment and examined the topic from every angle for over half a century.*

Most of us would still be wiping the egg off our faces after such a confrontation, but I think this young woman was too unintelligent to recognise that she had lost the argument and looked very pleased with herself.

(Though ironically Sir R seriously considered a career in the theatre and left clinical medicine to work as a theatre director. He was pretty good at it and won a National Directors' Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 1969. Happily for humanity he returned to medicine.)
