What the absolute F? Professor Robert Winston, eminent biologist over decades, and to be told that? I hate the BBC, if it wasn't for the fact my husband watches it (he's severely disabled) I'd cancel the licence and watch DVDs, and subscriptions over the internet.
Oh you LOVED him, didn't you, BBC luvvies, twenty years ago, with the series he did when he revisited babies, children etc to see how their lives were, a longitudinal, public survey, and the human genome project
I wish there was some mechanism to remove from the lives of people like Fiona Bruce the benefits on her life from people like Winston's work.
Don't believe in genetics? OK, no DNA tests are available to you, no information will be available to you regarding genetics, you will not be allowed to report in news articles that refer to DNA, if a crime happens to you, sorry no forensic tests are available to you.
Take away and bar the knowledge systematically, and the opportunities that come from that knowledge and they might start to get the message.
Richard Dawkins, the same, on a plane back from New Zealand, where he interviewed Maori about the prayers they said before take off. They genuinely, fundamentally, believed if they didn't pray, the plane wouldn't stay up. Dawkins said, "What about the design of the plane, the fuel, the thrust, the skill of the pilot..." No. None of that mattered to them.
"But the plane won't fly without fuel."
"We will pray to the Sky God."
Clearly we are heading to a new dark age where scientifically provable facts can be dismissed on feelings or political or religious whim, the latter being held on equal or higher regard.
