Not been able to watch any of the hearing today. Are we starting with a fresh witness in the morning?

Tinysoxxx · 16/10/2023 18:18

The only person I know that did a gender studies degree is in a Human Resources job. They will not like the advice as they is implementing things in the workplace that are not popular already.

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/10/2023 18:24

Just caught up with yet another jaw-dropping day.
Thanks again @ickky and everyone.

Nothing like having an original idea that's not so original, lol.

Great minds, my dear.

Great minds . . . 😁

And that is another aspect of this.

A good ally uses their position and power to further the political agenda and enforce it over others.

A good ally uses their position and power to further the political agenda and enforce it over others.

As Mr Justice Julian Knowles, phrased it: "In this country we have never had a Cheka, a Gestapo or a Stasi. We have never lived in an Orwellian society."

Yet, looking at these OU witnesses and attending to their disdain for JP, and the pride at their WApp secret cells, I can't shake the feeling that they're behaving in a remarkably similar manner when it comes to recruiting/encouraging citizens to inform on each other.

Voylio · 16/10/2023 18:41

Did anyone listen to this bit and catch which colleague they were talking about? Was it Jo or someone else?

A minor point from today's bin fire of evidence.

Among all the other terrible logic and lack of thought, I'm pretty sure the 'keep it in private email rather than official accounts, to avoid FoI' was wrong. I'm sure our org's data security training says to avoid using private accounts for security and to reduce the risk of accidental GDPR breaches, but that in the event of an FoI request everything is disclosable. Private and official accounts.

I think that’s right. But the OU can’t stop people from deleting records on their private accounts, or release the records for them. So the difference is in retention and practicalities.

Some (sensible) organizations do (or should) forbid employees from using any private accounts for anything to do with work, for those reasons.

It was laura favro ( sorry not sure of name) who HBC likes so worried about whereas she thinks Jo is a total transphobe so she cares not one bit about her welfare

Classy! Thanks

Managed to catch up. Thank you everyone who reported and commented today. I'm too busy this week to catch much of the final couple of days live. Gutted as it's remarkable watching.

borntobequiet · 16/10/2023 18:59

Bringing down a VC and claiming credit for it seems quite the achievement for a succession of individuals, several of whom claim to have a "little voice".

This is what happens when the mean girls from school get an education and access to online tools that enable them to carry on bullying on a grand scale.

MavisMcMinty · 16/10/2023 19:01

It is soooo mean girls from school!

Oscallia · 16/10/2023 19:16

GreenUp · 16/10/2023 19:54

They are talking about Laura McGrath who was an "out" member of the OUGRN. She works in the Psychology dept. alongside HBC.

Ah yes a different laura - thanks

AnnaMagnani · 16/10/2023 20:03

Just a thought. Jo was very very over-qualified for her role at the OU.

Is this a lot less to do with the trans issue and more to do with her being a serious threat to a cosy department?

Trans is just the convenient way to shut her down.
