Employment Tribunal starts next Monday, not sure if it is available for remote viewing.

I have sent a request so we will see.

My next Bingo card is having ALL the boxes as ladycock!

I'd rather listen to that than what sounds like is coming up, an afternoon of discrediting Jo's PTSD.

ickky · 06/10/2023 12:04

FFS the batteries have gone again on the mics.

I think Jo's due to finish giving evidence today (although the timetable is long gone) - I imagine she'll be very very keen to ensure that that happens.

ickky · 06/10/2023 12:06

Yes it should be Sarah Earle too today and JM got very upset of being accused of being slow in her questioning.

Lost a post - may show up at some point but just to say that original timetable showed Jo finishing giving evidence today by 1.15, an hour for lunch then Prof Earl starting at 2.15 and then going through til close of play @ 4pm.

I just want to interject to say thank you so much for this thread. I can’t attend, virtually or otherwise, but desperately wanted to follow. Although I can scarcely believe what I’m reading, nor the dismal incompetence on show at court re the technical setup. Quite unbelievable.

I also wanted to send my support to @RethinkingLife in what sounds like a grim situation. Not to trivialise your situation, but I work with someone who is both incompetent and careless, in a field where these traits are very much not on. I wonder if I can identify as having Fuckwit Sensitivity Dysphoria and thereby refuse to work with him? Somehow I suspect not, I just have to keep silently clearing up the mess caused by his continual cock-ups, for which he’s never brought to account…

katmarie · 06/10/2023 12:22

We have one pair of batteries left apparently...

Melissamelisante · 06/10/2023 12:23

How, oh how, can they not be prepared for rechargeable batteries needing recharging???

katmarie · 06/10/2023 12:24
Frustrated Fuck My Life GIF

me...

Puddlelane123 · 06/10/2023 12:24

Is that the lunchbreak or a short break?

Melissamelisante · 06/10/2023 12:25

Or is it a 'shit we've run out of charged batteries' break?!

MyLadyDisdainlsYetLiving · 06/10/2023 12:25

short break, but I think they started booting people out as there's about 9 observers still in and 6 in the lobby

Melissamelisante · 06/10/2023 12:25

Seriously, it's a short break (unless batterygate puts the kybosh on that plan)

LipbalmOrKnickers · 06/10/2023 12:26

Back in now.

Melissamelisante · 06/10/2023 12:28

Sounds gone to pot - is that the batteries going?

LarkLane · 06/10/2023 12:29

I know defence barristers and it's an important part of a fair trial, justice being done etc. but this just seems deliberately unpleasant.

We all know that it's a political trial of ducking stool proportions.

Yet this is taking place as a civil action in an Employment Tribunal. A judicial body ostensibly responsible for workplace justice. Set up in 1964, to be " worker friendly". The outcome based on a balance of probabilities not the criminal, beyond a reasonable doubt.

Yet I feel as though Jo is in the dock at the Old Bailey.

Puddlelane123 · 06/10/2023 12:29

Yeah I got booted out and now waiting to be let back in. Grrr

If they haven't got a case based on things you have actually done/ said/ not done/ failed to do that are manifestly inappropriate/ wrong (or whatever) they have to rely on showing you to be of bad character or lying. Jo won't appreciate it now, but what they're demonstrating is that they have nothing better to work with.

I bet Ben's looking forward to Monday.

MyLadyDisdainlsYetLiving · 06/10/2023 12:40

Oh Jo.Sad

Definitely. This is the tactic defence barristers use with rape victims. It's vicious and nasty. Thank god I'm not a barrister.

Ben Cooper won't need to use these kinds of intimidatory tactics because, judging by past performances, he will simply ask a series of questions that will allow the OU witnesses to make utter fools of themselves.

Melissamelisante · 06/10/2023 12:41

That poor woman.

Melissamelisante · 06/10/2023 12:45

Now discussing Jo's health and PTSD including her history as it is referenced in Witness Statement.

ickky · 06/10/2023 12:48

😢Poor Jo
