Poor JP is sounding upset again, not surprising when constantly being accused of lying and only creating the GC network to directly cause trouble for trans people.

It also angers me that JP is having to justify the network as being important for research rather than just something people are allowed to do. We are allowed to talk to each other

This remind me of the LGBA trial where Kate ended up in tears because she was having to justify why she didn't want to have sexual with men. These women are so brave and stand up for all of us. I'm in awe of them

All I think she's achieving is emphasising the impact on Jo of what Jo was subjected too.

I'd have thought she created the GC network partly because she was being (and feeling!) isolated from her colleagues? And that's why she led it, it's not as if there was an existing network for her to join.

It's a university so research is important. It shows she was doing her job well.

If the OU had a strong case, their barrister wouldn't need to harangue and intimidate Jo like this. They would be able to calmly interrogate her and let her damn herself. So this behaviour by their barrister is simply a mark of how weak their case is, in my view. And they know it.

Spot on. They're having to try their best to discredit her and make her look as though her memory is unreliable and she is emotionally unstable.

I think this is symptomatic of the poor running of the hearing. I’ve been late on other days and been let in promptly, so it’s on whoever is clerking. Any hybrid meeting should have someone continuously monitoring what’s happening online including letting people in the lobby, doing the “sound mixing” of the microphones so we can hear when people speak. As well as being alert to bad behaviour, which thankfully has not occurred in this hearing so far.

You could try ringing the court to prompt the clerk.

JM is really pushing the view that the open letter calling for the network to not be recognised would have had no effect. And that when the letter went on about harm to trans people that was not a direct reference to the network so was not a problem.

I don't understand why they are even arguing this point. Why should it matter if it is provocative? GC is protected now isn't it? If LGBTQIA+++ networks are acceptable why not GC networks?
