Is this really fair on the groom who has gone onto the show to meet a woman and is matched with a TW without his knowledge until after the ceremony?

I know some will say it’s only a reality tv show but surely if the groom thinks he’s being matched with a woman, this is wrong.

What an awful thing to do to someone- and having it all filmed so he may well feel he can’t react authentically to it. Great way to stir up publicity for the show, though.

Unless he ticked a box saying he'd be happy to match with a transwoman then this is very very wrong. Not surprising MAFS has done this. Once it became the car crash trash show it is the past couple of seasons anything was possible.

As a little add on, I read recently that Michelle and Owen from the last of the 'traditional style' seasons are still happily married and expecting a baby. Delighted for them.

Anyone dumb enough to go on MAFS deserves everything they get, frankly. Not sure they can complain they didn't get given their perfect match. Its cheap tawdry entertainment.

It's exactly as if they paired a straight man with another man for example - they've paired a gay man with a straight man WITHOUT TELLING the straight man, who doesn't get turned on by penis/men, with a man. It's vile deception.

I’d be pretty pissed off if I was the man. I can only assume they ask in the matching process whether they would be happy being matched with someone transgender.

You would think they would have learned the lesson from There’s Something About Miriam. I listed to a podcast about that and it was tragic.

There are some men who I could completely see 'kicking the shit' out of another man who did this level of deception, especially if they had been intimate in some way. I'd hope the groom is not that type of man.

It's a strange show but there is some level of informed consent usually - I don't think it is unethical per se. It might be against your morals or values but that is different
