Is this really fair on the groom who has gone onto the show to meet a woman and is matched with a TW without his knowledge until after the ceremony?

I know some will say it’s only a reality tv show but surely if the groom thinks he’s being matched with a woman, this is wrong.

It says in that article that he was told before the 'wedding' that's his match was trans and he agreed to continue and the scene was shot for dramatic effect. I'm as GC as they come but he can't say he didn't know. He could've said no thank you, and just not been on television.

The article says that Chanel 4 had told the man about the fact his match was trans before the ceremony but still chose to go ahead….

All I said was that Ella's statement she was as normal as the other girls was clearly nonsense as she is about as far from normal and the other girls as anyone could be. Also all the surgery she has had just makes her look weird (especially the tight uncomfortable looking breasts) and Ella is just a superficial caricature of what a woman actually looks like.

What is so wrong about that MNHQ?

The wording of the article has changed considerably since it first appeared . None of the comments from C4 were originally there.

There is an issue around consent whether he truly felt he could say NO. Ahd wha5 the6 have done if he had done so? Could have gone either way really abd depends a lot on how they presented things.

If he had said no to the match with Ella, would this man have been given a different partner and be allowed to continue on the show? I wonder, and suspect not.

I think it's the photo with the coloured feathery top thing that gives it away most.

There is something about that photo which makes Ella look masculine (not surprisingly as Ella is genetically male). I think it might be the angle/how Ella holds herself or perhaps the hands/wrists area. It just look off and automatically make me think of drag.

Yes, absolutely that's the conclusion I've come to (especially in the feathery photo). You can't really do cosmetic surgery on hands/wrists/ankles/feet and they do tend to be a give away.

They don't really get married on the show, but the fact he's being deceived in such a way even for just a stupid reality tv show is awful and humiliating. Imagine if he (the bloke he marries) doesn't come clean that he's actually a man and this bloke had kissed and touched him. It's gross and so unfair on the poor bloke who is matched with him, this is all recorded for everyone to see. So unethical. How's this matching people by "experts", if you can't even get the sex correct nevermind personality/background/likes/dislikes! It's not exactly something you can compromise on if you are straight! If they get some pan sexual or something, fine, but an unsuspecting straight man thinking it's a women, no.

However, I too think it deeply unfair and irresponsible to match someone with this person unless they had specifically stated they were happy to be matched with a transwoman.
