Comedy event cancelled at the Fringe because of Glinner?

I hadn't seen anything about this on X/Twitter previously, but apparently some activists have been putting pressure on the venue and they've cancelled an upcoming event called Comedy Unleashed because one of the comedians is Graham Linehan. How utterly pathetic. https://twitter.com/UnleashedComedy/status/1691476377793409024?s=20 Seems to be organised by/associated with Andrew Doyle, aka Titania McGrath.

Journalist my foot. I had a quick look at Twitter earlier and she put out a self-pitying and attention-seeking message about how awful her feed was. A likeminded chum said he was so sorry this was happening to her and she bravely responded that it was OK, she'd muted them all. So in other words, she's deliberately closed her ears, eyes and mind to all the people pointing out that she is sadly misinformed, and why. What a numpty.

But unfortunately all her media cronies aren't pointing this out.

So yet again media figures and gaining together to protect themselves - and are happy to organise a pile on on whoever is the current hate figure.

But thanks for commentary on the interview.

I do worry that the influence of US car crash tv is going to mean we will see more and more of this, and that the media will decide who can or cant have a voice. Let alone anyone speaking up for women's rights.

I totally understand about how wrong cancelling the show is, but because the focus of the reporting it this, no one is saying why should someone by cancelled for talking about women's rights.

We've done the media's job for them documenting it all here over the years.

Yes have always thought a good researched would somewhere be indexing this.

But we know that just as they decide who will have a voice and who want, Mumsnet only gets a mention in relation to biscuits, or when someone thinks that saying the "harpies at mumsnet" is they way to say this is rubbish and should be ignored.

He really does. If he would just leave all the “woke” jibes out, I’d be happy to have a few drinks in the pub with him. I sigh every time an otherwise interesting thought-provoking person chucks in a casual “woke” here and there, I find it distracting and detracting.

Just to say that although it might be interesting not that keen on an academic study.

What I want, and the world needs particularly the media, is a searchable database that will take you to posts that have actual info and / or links to actual info.

I reckon that less that 1% of what is said on here is reflected in MSM. And great as FWR is, there are other spaces where women's sex based rights are also being discussed, but to the world at large all of this is invisible / unknown.
