Continuation of Thread 5.

There is so much excellent information and so many active discussions on FWR that I wondered if it would be useful to have a thread to sort of "cross-fertilise" between them - airing little thoughts or vignettes that wouldn't themselves merit their own thread, to highlight other posts/threads of particular interest or to point to notable developments on fast-moving threads so that casual observers know where to look.

(For example, "the X thread has meandered onto a fascinating discussion of Y" or "Poster P's amazing analysis on thread Z might have relevance to the scenario in thread W" or "Has anybody noticed this recurring theme that keeps coming up??" or even "Random bloke asked me to smile while I was choosing onions in the supermarket, grr"- that sort of thing).

I see the site stuff thread about They Who Cannot Be Named has been “closed overnight”. I suppose we should be grateful the threads were allowed to stay up for so long, and some newly peaked posters learnt a lot.

It must have been the bobble hat discourse.

I'm assuming they weren't expecting to have to deal with it and don't have the moderators to deal with us all misbehaving!

I started a thread about a certain type of headwear where no one was supposed to mention a certain type of outdoor activity. I think I may have caused an issue by both being too vague and too on topic at the same time.
Result below.

I saved the full poem just as the thread got deleted, with permission to use at will.

You know where that will be appearing in a a month or so!

I think the moderators were left with instructions to zap any new thread if they even got a whiff of you know what about you know who.

One lasting positive thing about those threads is that I now know how to find the fruit farmer site in its new place. It is much more upfront about HimWhoCannotBeNamed.

Oh wow, yes! As I just said on that thread, it would be a very worthwhile project when I win the Euromillions. Only adult human females allowed as it’ll be my own private venture, so ner ner ner ner ner to any sad penises, I’ll be able to afford the very best… I want to say “lawyers” but I’ll want proper professional ones, solicitors and barristers.

I wish I knew what the careful references were relating to! Hats? Outdoor activity? They who must not be named?

Not quite sure where the hats come into it.

A Transactivist who pursues people he dislikes via civil and criminal courts once posted some raunchy images to a crossdresser website that inexplicably featured a knitted beanie.

If we aren’t allowed to name him on MN anymore I suggest we start calling him Voldehat.
