I have seen it quoted on here for many years that Tunnocks are to be supported as they support women's rights. I have looked on their website and social media and can see nothing to support this rumour. Does anyone have any evidence? Thanks.

Tunnocks once gifted the LGB-Alliance some teacakes a while back, which led gender critical people to believe that Tunnocks also held a gender critical belief.

However when questioned on it, Tunnocks said something along the lines of "we get requests from charities all the time and we pick one to donate to each week, so this time we just chose the LGB-Alliance but we don't know much about them".

At the time I emailed them to inform them what the LGB-Alliance was actually about and asked them to clarify if they held a view on trans-rights, and all the said in their reply was "thanks for letting us know".

IMO I don't think Tunnocks are TERFs or transphobes, it just so happens that out of all the charities who contacted them for freebies that week, the LGB-Alliance was the ones they picked out of a hat.

It's understandable, with a name like "LGB-Alliance" it can trick people and companies who don't know who they are into thinking they are an actual gay rights org (as opposed to an anti-trans one).

I am team tea cake. You can keep the wafers.

What I especially like about those products is that they don’t smear. Chocolate everywhere.

Also remember they donate to a charity every week, there's a good chance Tunnocks have also donated to one or more actual LGBT charities which include trans-rights.

You can end up quite sticky eating a tea cake I find. I like to eat them in stages, pick off the chocolate first, lick the marshmallow off the biscuit before finally consuming that

The whole Tunnocks drama introduced me to new delights. I blame you lot for about 5kg avoirdupois!

Oh yes. They are wrapped in blue foil. We can only get them online at twice the price of milk chocolate in the supermarket so they all belong to me.

Well that's confusing. Blue is for milk chocolate and red is for dark chocolate.

I gladly take on this great responsibility! 😀

Have Tunnocks ever said anything in support of TERFs or said anything against LGBT people? No they haven't.

They chose the anti-trans-alliance to donate to that time not knowing what they stood for.
