Apologies if there’s a thread already but as someone at similar stage of pregnancy I’m struggling to articulate my thoughts on this one.

Let and let live vs feeling offended (not even sure that’s the word?!) as at similarly heavily pregnant stage

My imagination has produced a 75 year old Yorkshireman sitting in a pub saying "Ee, there's none so queer as folk." Can anyone gif that for me?

TrishTrix · 02/06/2023 23:00

Trans boys have a high rate ofcteenage pregnancy.
US stats.
several factors interplay

  1. hcps often ignorant that they still practice PIV sex so need contraception
  2. personal beliefs - they’re a man/boy so can’t get pregnant (except they can!)
  3. expend so much energy on convincing the world to use he/him it’s then really difficult to ask for “female” medication 1 contraception

I can't condone the glamorization of self-harm.

I saw this person interviewed on YouTube recently. It was an unexpected pregnancy.

Stopped taking testosterone for some other health-related reason, became fertile again (without realising), continued having unprotected sex with male partner.

Living proof of what exactly though? Transmen are women? Not that presumably. Transmen can get pregnant? I'm not sure what it's living proof of other than that you can't change sex.

But in the end, good luck to them I say, there's no reason a trans couple shouldn't have children.

Well, no.
Except they might as well have saved themselves the bother of pretending they'd changed sex.
"Man and woman have baby" isn't so newsworthy.

leelaay · 03/06/2023 10:12

Oh for heaven's sake why was my post deleted Hmm

Theeyeballsinthesky · 03/06/2023 10:14

Exactly! no one is saying trans couples shouldn’t have children we are just pointing out that however they identify this is a straight heterosexual couple who have PIV and a baby isn’t exactly a surprise result

biology doesn’t care about identify

ginghamstarfish · 03/06/2023 10:21

the words 'pregnant trans man' = woman, from a biological, scientific, commonsense point of view

Re gender critical people apparently focusing more on transwomen-

Transmen are more noticeable to me personally because more very young women that I know are living this way. Of all the trans people I know, so far only 2 are male, the rest are what feels like a flood of 16 - 25 year old women transitioning. As a feminist I obviously analyse that wave with love and concern for my young sisters, but they're also living pretty normal lives for any young person.

In the media transmen are usually either pregnant or topless or both. I can analyse that from a feminist perspective as well.

BreatheAndFocus · 03/06/2023 17:06

Um, yes - living proof that transmen remain female and so can get pregnant. Not quite the proof Logan was aiming for, I guess. All Logan has done is underline Logan’s sex, which is clearly female.

Backstreets · 03/06/2023 17:22

If I were a trans man I wouldn't go for all that silly Aiden Kayden stuff either, I'd go straight to the unfiltered man source: Logan Roy

Anyone else in favour of Jeff G being the next Glamour cover?

Vitriolinsanity · 04/06/2023 01:21

@Backstreets I'm with you. Beyoncé had it in If I Were A Boy.

It’s when Mum tells you she’s a man but you can see right through her.

👏 👏 👏 🤣

Moomoola · 04/06/2023 08:11

I thought it was a bloke with a beer belly.

Emotionalsupportviper · 04/06/2023 08:17

God alone knows what the cocktail of hormones this young woman is taking has done to her baby.

Totally selfish and irresponsible.

Plus, giving birth is the most female thing anyone can do (in the sense that you have to be female to give birth, not in the sense that you have to give birth to be female) - so why would any "man" want to gestate and birth a baby?

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 04/06/2023 08:24

Well, clearly not a,man.
And not really living as a man if pregnant, surely?
I just don't get it.

Rightsraptor · 04/06/2023 08:25

I haven't read the thread (apologies) and no doubt others have said this, but what is that spectacularly unglamorous photo doing on the front of a magazine called 'Glamour'?

loislovesstewie · 04/06/2023 08:36

@Rightsraptor ,you've just given me the first belly laugh of the day!

GourmetLettuceMix · 04/06/2023 08:38

Logan's blog is an interesting read.

Logan just happened to have pregnancy tests in the bathroom cabinet because Logan was paranoid about getting pregnant.

They found out their baby was a girl while baby was still in the womb, during a scan. Presumably sex organs (or lack of) were observed and no one assigned anything.

They are using the regular female pronouns for their daughter, having rejected the suggestion to raise her without a sex or gender.

Logan is diagnosed ADHD (and her partner with ASD) but in her writing she comes across with possible autistic characteristics as well.

Emotionalsupportviper · 04/06/2023 08:40

@GourmetLettuceMix

There are no words . . .

PorcelinaV · 01/06/2023 23:01

Trans people do exist, sure. They just haven't biologically changed sex. So no one even denies that they exist in some sense.

So I'm offended at the silliness of them thinking they are "living proof" of something.

I also question whether you deserve to be on a magazine for it these days, but that's their choice.

This

Plus I wonder why if your female sexed body is such a source of distress that you reject it entirely, do you make the decision to go through the most female experience there is, during which your body will constantly remind you of your undeniable biology and have a baby
