This was in a Colorado - Utah race a couple of days ago. Apologies if there's already a thread. I didn't see one.

Interestingly, this was in the race for cyclists aged 40-49. I wonder if older athletes are less likely to stand for this nonsense. Anyway, good for them. I hope this spreads to younger cyclists and other sports.

Cyclists No Show Post-Race Podium After Biological Male Finishes 1st In Female Race

Trans cyclist Lesley Mumford proudly posted an Instagram photo standing atop the first-place podium. But he was all alone.

The people holding the signs reading “protect female sports” are really no different to the people who go to anti-abortion protests holding “pro-life” banners.

In both cases the messages are examples of carefully constructed lies. They are crafted to conceal the true motivation behind the message.

Ooh. @landOFconfusion

So it is the same in your eyes?

That is interesting.

There will be no right to have an abortion anywhere when it is not a problem for half of those who say they are «women».
Abortions will be considered transphobic.
Maybe they are already?

PriOn1 · 23/05/2023 05:04

Perhaps those people with banners are being kind?

After all, if they wrote the more truthful “Keep men out of women’s sports” then the men pretending to be women would have their feels hurted.

At least you didn’t deny your posts are misogynistic.

Rather hypocritical to call me an extremist and pea brained, so I guess readers will also see that as projection from you. I mean only an extremist who is pea brained victim blames a man who is severely assaulted while holding a protest sign at a Pride event, particularly when it is an elderly man and one who was instrumental in laying the foundations for those pride events to happen.

So, do crack on posting misogynist points of view on a feminist forum. It always gives a live demonstration on the paucity of critical thinking in general from those who merely seek to shame women for disagreeing that any male can ever be woman.

*MerlinsLostMarbles · Today 22:10

As noone who actually was in the race protested or raised any concerns re the transwoman, do you think you have the right to speak on their behalf?*

The athletes sign a code of conduct prohibiting saying anything negative abour the race, competitors or organisers, otherwise they will be excluded. This code also applies to families.

Basically, shut up, smile and be nice or be banned. So of course no one protested, the girls competed for years for this. They can get college scolarships for this, it is their future.

This boy, who is a junior running against seniors, was fifth in the last 100 meters and ended second, showing he had plenty of energy left. He shaved 17 seconds of his time. 17! No girl does that. If you don't see the blatant unfairness with this evidence, nothing will

sanluca · 23/05/2023 05:30

Sorry, this was about the boy in the sthletics race, too many men beating women to keep track of. My ooint was that women are being bullied to keep quiet or be ostracixpsed. It is in no way a level playing field here.

Come to think of it, weren’t you one of the posters who declared women and girls requesting same sex care as being just like racism?

And that problem for women and girls who had religious beliefs that required same sex facilities was their religion and not societies refusal to accommodate them?

Plus didn’t you frame women being beaten and assaulted in Auckland as being ‘what both sides’ wanted? That completely dismisses the violence and extreme actions of a large group of extreme activists towards women who just wanted to gather and speak. It didn’t matter that you tried to denounce that violence, your words and doubling down on ‘both side got what they want’ (paraphrasing from memory) actively dismiss that violence. It was also incredibly dismissive of the effort that Māori women put in to organize that event.

And didn’t you call a woman scum for complaining that Dylan Mulvaney was portraying women in harmful stereotypes while advertising a bra for women.

I guess this post on this thread is unsurprising considering.

Here is another one from the weekend.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11892441/Transgender-athlete-46-wins-female-NYC-cycling-event-says-feels-like-superhero.html

A transgender cyclist won first place at a female race in New York City amid ongoing debates over the inclusion of trans athletes in female competitions.
**
Tiffany Thomas, 46, who was born male, ended the Randall's Island Crit cycling race atop the podium, blowing the competition out of the water to snatch first place.
**
Despite only taking up cycling in 2018, Tiffany quickly found success and has dominated competitions in the years since. She recently landed a place on top cycling team LA Sweat, where her oldest teammate is just 32.
**
But her frequent victories have caught the ire of some critics, and fellow athletes, who to question whether Thomas holds an unfair advantage in women's sports.

Transgender athlete, 46, wins top female NYC cycling event

Transgender athlete Tiffany Thomas, 46, dominated the field at a women's cycling competition in New York City over the weekend, despite claims she holds an unfair advantage.

According to the race organisers and the woman who came in 2nd, noone protested or had any concern about the transwoman taking part. And the far-right tabloids posting about how "the podium was deserted out of protest" has been debunked as false.

So why do we need to get upset over the transwoman who has undertaken all necessary operations and treatments participating?

Women who object to men in their sports get threats, deselected, abuse and lose their jobs.

You can't assume they were ok with being beaten by a man, because they probably feared repercussions if they complained.

And you are now taking the oppression further by pressuring other women who object to it.

I think it best to have plausible deniability for the podium no show. Maybe one could say "oh I was getting food, I completely forgot". Of course I don't mind training for decades then getting crushed by a cheating male

I'm imagining you are in the U.S,A?

In Britain, the right to access abortion is a settled matter. This is not a religious country in the way the U.S is, and if peole have a private faith they keep it to themselves.

Women in Britain tend not to religious fundamentalists except for when it comes to matter of the sheer blindingly obvious fact of biological sex. You call it 'Gender' in the U.S ( which is where a lot of the confusion arises). Women hhave been struggling for dignity and parity for a long time and we will not be letting it go easily.

Males are not women. women have their own sporting categories for reason of parity and female dignity and achievement.

It is you who is behaving like a religious fundamentalist - in trying to impose your own make believe thinking on to an unwilling population. Keep it to yourself, and leave others out of it.

It is you who is the ideological extremist, and personally I think you've been given far more time than is your due. You are rude and obnoxious and full of wilfull self privilege. Perhaps that is why you have been imagined to be be male?

You exist? Big deal! Get over it - because at present your 'existence' seems pretty fragile and very brittle and in danger of imminent collapse.

Willful blindness, also known as conscious avoidance, is a judicially-made doctrine that expands the definition of knowledge to include closing one's eyes to the high probability a fact exists.

Willful blindness is a term used in law to describe a situation in which a person seeks to avoid civil or criminal liability for a wrongful act by intentionally keeping themselves unaware of facts that would render them liable or implicated.

Their girly feels no less,

NotHavingIt · 23/05/2023 07:52

The culpability in recklessness is justified by consciousness of the risk and by proceeding in the face of it, while in wilful blindness it is justified by the accused's fault in deliberately failing to inquire when he knows there is reason for inquiry

Fizbosshoes · 23/05/2023 09:22

If men and women are essentially the same, why is sport segregated at all...?
But if the difference is only testosterone why are we not seeing the same impact on men's sport from transmen, if they have "met the requirements" needed....?

Women have waited, campaigned, fought for years to be included in certain sports or events and have recognition. (Some womens events took over 100 years since the men's event, to be included in the olympics)
You don't think that they might feel aggrieved that men - who potentially have a longer sporting career anyway, without the interference of periods or timing of childbirth - who have always had better access to sports, now want to compete in women's events as well...?

BonfireLady · 23/05/2023 09:39

“We have confirmed that the age group winner has undergone all required surgeries and treatments to transition from a man to a woman and would thereby qualify as a woman racer under both USA Cycling and International Olympic Committee rules."

Setting aside the issue of someone who has gone through male puberty being allowed to race in women's events for one moment... I can see a fundamental problem when it comes to the law.

I'm wondering if Pink News needs to report itself to IPSO for quoting (without challenge) a statement which is disctimatory towards a protected characteristic. Gender reassignment is a protected characteristic, which doesn't have any "required surgeries". The Equality Act is very clear on this specific point. There will be many transwomen who want to race in women's events who haven't had any surgery and I don't believe either of the sporting bodies mentioned actually requires it.

Pink News is a UK publication so is bound by the Equality Act in its reporting. It should check with its lawyers that it's not being transphobic and breaking the law.

MummaMaggoth · 23/05/2023 09:42

Sorry you seem mistaken this was a trans woman. I understand the confusion the media is pretty bad at reporting. So yeah, a woman beat some women and they were little cry babies about being losers.

What part of Mumford’s story are you missing ?

A male cyclist won a female cycling event meant for female athletes of that age group. There is currently no technology that can remove male physical advantage. And no way for any male to reverse their puberty and have their body go through female puberty.

SWAT Officer Shares Story Of Transition

I shouldn't be by now, but I remain amazed that this is even a thing. Of course men shouldn't be in female competitive sports. Surely some time soon the madness will end and no-one will speak of this crap again?

I would ask you to explain and justify this, but I think we all know you aren't doing that.

Which one is actually the "carefully constructed lie"...

(A) "Protect female sports"

Or:

(B) "Trans women are women"

??

You don't genuinely believe they were "getting food" do you? In your heart of hearts?
