This was in a Colorado - Utah race a couple of days ago. Apologies if there's already a thread. I didn't see one.

Interestingly, this was in the race for cyclists aged 40-49. I wonder if older athletes are less likely to stand for this nonsense. Anyway, good for them. I hope this spreads to younger cyclists and other sports.

Cyclists No Show Post-Race Podium After Biological Male Finishes 1st In Female Race

Trans cyclist Lesley Mumford proudly posted an Instagram photo standing atop the first-place podium. But he was all alone.

Question, is anyone posting in this thread a competitor in the race?

As noone who actually was in the race protested or raised any concerns re the transwoman, do you think you have the right to speak on their behalf?

Misstache · 22/05/2023 22:29

Have you actually had to seek an abortion in Texas? Why do you care if it doesn’t affect you?

Are you actually a migrant fleeing war? Why is it your business then how they get treated?

Are you in the abusive domestic relationship? The woman isn’t asking for help so why are you getting involved?

Is it your child? What does it matter if a child is being bullied if you don’t even go to the school?

etc etc

Your ability to ignore the power dynamic tells me a lot about you.

According to the race organisers and the woman who came in 2nd, noone protested or had any concern about the transwoman taking part. And the far-right tabloids posting about how "the podium was deserted out of protest" has been debunked as false.

So why do we need to get upset over the transwoman who has undertaken all necessary operations and treatments participating?

We need to get upset because, despite the "necessary operations and treatments" (which aren't actually defined) the person who finished first isn't a fucking woman.

Yep,he's a big old hairy arsed bloke.

The same as you have to speak on behalf of the cheating man, who was awarded the winner's medal.

Come on, you've been on enough of these threads! You know that he has a huge, insurmountable physiological advantage, against which, women cannot compete effectively.

MrsTerryPratchett · 22/05/2023 23:31

Mumford said he had the full support of his then-wife of 12 years, Sarah, as well as Summit Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons.

"Then-wife". Huh, wonder what happened to their marriage after her 'full support'. Something totally unrelated I assume.

JanesLittleGirl · 22/05/2023 23:34

Oh, and another thing. Did the necessary treatments and surgeries include reducing lung capacity by 20%, broadening and rotating the hips to a female configuration and changing the ratio of thigh to shin bone to a female one? I might be interested if those surgeries were mandatory.

SinnerBoy · 22/05/2023 23:34

He was fully supported as she picked him up bodily and threw him out of the front door? With the instruction never to return?

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 22/05/2023 23:50

“We have confirmed that the age group winner has undergone all required surgeries and treatments to transition from a man to a woman”

The shorts stretched tight during the victory salute on the podium tell a tale about necessary ‘surgeries’ ( 🏀 🐔)

I see you avoided directly answering any of Misstache's questions Merlin.

The fact that the women avoided the podium but are too intimidated to explicitly explain why speaks volumes.

I also think that you really need to re-examine your definition of "far-right".

"The angry protesters held up a banner reading 'Protect Female Sports' and video posted on the Women Are Real Twitter account showed an altercation involving another woman who took issue with the banner".

'That is f*kng disgusting,' the woman said. 'I find that f*king offensive.'

If you had say in 2010 told someone that the reaction to "protect female sports" would be "that is fucking disgusting", how many people would have thought you bonkers?

The people holding the signs reading “protect female sports” are really no different to the people who go to anti-abortion protests holding “pro-life” banners.

In both cases the messages are examples of carefully constructed lies. They are crafted to conceal the true motivation behind the message.

Where is the carefully constructed lie? What a misogynistic and disgusting comparison to make!

Women and girls who want fair sports are “really no different to the people who go to anti-abortion protests holding “pro-life” banners”?

Readers, can you see it yet?

The falsity, the emotional manipulation in that falsity, and the misogyny. A male has come to tell women what their motivation is to campaign for fairness in sport, and to vilify any woman or girl who rejects males competing in their sports category.

”do you think you have the right to speak on their behalf?”

Yes. I think women concerned about the safety and fairness in the female sports categories have every right to speak collectively on behalf of all current and future female sports participants.

Just like we have every fucking right to speak out on violence and intimidation against women and girls. ( Just a cream pie! Just water being sprayed! Can you get any lower than dismissing violence against women and girls speaking? )

Maybe you need a reminder and should read this statement from Reem Alsalem.

https://www.ohchr.org/sites/default/files/documents/issues/women/sr/statements/2023-05-19-statement-sr-vawg.pdf

But what would she know, right? Not as much as someone who takes every opportunity to vilify any woman or girl who disagrees that male people can change sex or ever should be considered as a female person , Merlin, obviously.

”do you think you have the right to speak on their behalf?”

You obviously don’t understand feminism to come out with that one.

If that's not the greatest load of arrant nonsense ever posted on line, it's certainly made the semi finals.

Helleofabore · 23/05/2023 04:38

“At no time did any rider report any concern to us or protest [against] these results,” the post said. “We have confirmed that the age group winner has undergone all required surgeries and treatments to transition from a man to a woman and would thereby qualify as a woman racer under both USA Cycling and International Olympic Committee rules."

No shit Sherlock!

What woman in cycling is going to voice her honest opinion when Inga Thompson just lost her position for doing so? What woman athlete would not have seen what happened to Riley Gaines recently? The monstering, the vilification and the loss of opportunity and community is a very real threat and may be a certainty in some sports.

The chilling effect is clear. I suspect all women in sport are fully aware of the impact of speaking the truth and will absolutely not allow any hint of disagreement show until the regulations change and even then they may never let it be known.

Yet activists will cling to ‘no protests’ or ‘no concerns raised’ to keep women in line. Of course women will not protest or raise concerns when the regulations are clear and published before the event. Doesn’t mean they agree politically with them.

It just means they will have to agree to race within the regulations as events happen and seek to have these regulations changed for future events.

Hey wims! Better stop campaigning for anything that doesn’t directly impact you right at that very moment of campaigning!

No feministing allowed unless the issue has direct impact on you right at that moment!

Even better, if no woman being directly impacted has officially complained about something that is being allowed under the regulations they signed agreeing to so that they could participate, because making any complaint may mean losing that opportunity or other opportunities, then there is NO cause for feministing either! Nothing to see, move along! All women are happy competitors when they lose to a male competitor with male advantages…. obviously.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 23/05/2023 04:51

@MerlinsLostMarbles you can't be that stupid to wonder why they wouldn't say they were upset. The backlash would be huge. So yeah, we need to get annoyed for then because men are cheating to steal women's races; among other things.
He also isn't a woman, no amount of surgery will change that he's a man.
