He calls her Karen and then either grabs the phone or the person who’s filming.

As is so often the case with these stories, none of it makes any sense. So originally the store manager was angry because Ms Thomas referred to a different employee as a "lady" even though the employee didn't identify as female? But then the store manager also became angry for allegedly being referred to as a man when they didn't identify as male? (Though you don't actually hear Ms Thomas describing store manager as male on the recording, I think.) How many transgender people does this store employ? And how are you supposed to know who identifies as what sex?

Flipping heck well for such a marginalised tiny minority, there are at least 2 people with trans identities being aggressive to women who don't do compelled speech in one branch of Starbucks in Southampton.

Shocking really.

I wonder if that manager discriminated against non trans identifying job applicants?

Glad he got sacked, that looks like one toxic workplace.

He came back in. The lady said he threw her out of the cafe, then got his coat and stormed out smashing the door. She was still in there when he went out to attack the man filming.

Yes, could be - that makes a certain amount of sense. He (am I allowed to say he?) seemed to be on a very short fuse anyway as he intervened unnecessarily when she complained about having to pay by card. In any case, how could she possibly have known that this very aggressive, obviously male person shouting at her identified as a woman?

Aren't all the men who want to act like this identifying as women or non-binary now? Seems like a pretty safe guess that the man shouting in your face has a gender.

But I guess he wasn't acting like that to start with, making his special identity less blatant...

And of course not everyone has seen as much trans representation as we have to get familiar with their, um, ... culture?

When did going out and interacting with other people, (and I know I'm presuming that they all identify as people) become so fucking complicated?
Maybe we should all wear badges, not with preferred pronouns, but with "fuck off, I'm not talking and neither should you."
