It’s not clear what the customer said, it’s presumed she misgenders the employee as he calls her transphobic. He calls her Karen and then either grabs the phone or the person who’s filming.

If we can't whinge, are we even British?😂

Probably not.

As nation we were born to whinge, and I think Prince Harry is the living embodiment of this proud national characteristic. He's just taken it to far in publishing a book bout it.

As an aside, the Mail Online were using a sort of 'close up' version of the video, so that the counter-staff was visible. Throughout the altercation, they were looking down, not once did I see them look up at what was happening in front of them.

Why would they do that?

The only possibilities I can think of are

  1. distraught at being misgendered as a 'lady', holding back the tars
  2. Their arsehole manager does this sort of thing so often that they're inwardly rolling their eyes and thinking 'not again ...'

Option 3: she's making herself as inconspicuous as possible, trying to keep out of the row. I grant that I'm autistic and that's a film still, but I read it as the "please don't notice me, please don't hurt me" submission stance.

Middle aged women of any colour tend to be the bed rock of most societies and families and bind and keep people together. They are the unsung heroes, wise, mature and often are peacekeepers. It is the same if you go to any country from Iraq to Zimbabwe, New York to London.

Hear, hear.

Emotionalsupportviper · 11/05/2023 18:02

KalimbaMoon · 11/05/2023 16:00

I think the manager had been emboldened by all the crap that is spat out by hardline activists … this meant he felt entitled to victimhood as one of society’s “most marginalised”. Probably didn’t even see the “Karen” as a fellow human being, just a nasty oppressor. Ironic when you consider just how powerful the trans lobby is. Businesses, health providers, sporting bodies and lawmakers prioritise trans demands above women’s rights, so who’s the most oppressed?

Probably didn’t even see the “Karen” as a fellow human being,.

Of course she's not a human being - she's a woman.

@DarkDayforMN Thank you for this post. You said what I was thinking and put it really well

Same here.

She also said she didn’t make any complaint to anyone until a customer told her husband.

Nobody really knows what happened - but the people (male) who actually murdered Emmett Till seem to have been consistently overlooked in favour of accusing someone (female) who may or may not have complained about the boy’s behaviour and then went on to perjure herself at her husband’s trial.

IIRC Emmett Till had whistled at her - just silly teenage bravado - and did nothing else, but because the incident was reported to her husband she was pushed into a corner herself. If she had tried to minimise it she could have been accused of encouraging the boy's attentions.

She was probably frightened for her own safety, and because of this that poor boy died.

GailBlancheViola · 11/05/2023 18:16

CremeEggQueen · 11/05/2023 17:22

If people don't want the behaviour to be commented on, what was it even brought up in the first place for by a poster?!
If you're going to comment stuff like "least damgerous" expect people to sometimes disagree with you, not just back clap each other or all agree echo chamber like.

You haven't provided one iota of evidence to prove that white women are the least dangerous.

lifeturnsonadime · 11/05/2023 18:46

I think Creme Egg is just trying to detract from the point of this thread which is that males with trans identities have been emboldened to be violent and aggressive to women because of trans ideology, the reasons for which have been discussed upthread.

The distraction is to take the thread away because Creme Egg doesn't want us talking about this.

Makes me think women should rule the world.
Just not for too long, jacinda Ardern/wee jimmy crankie/indirah thandi etc.

Agreed. The best thing to do is to scroll past the posts and not rise to the bait.

Hope he’s prosecuted. But Shite Man Tears seem to be much more effective in this country than the other thing. I wonder if the cops will even bother.

Well they're investigating now. But it does seem that the investigation was triggered by public outrage rather than the actual crime being reported by the victim.

I'm autistic too and thought the same, but with a hefty dose of 2 thrown in too. She looks like me every time my colleagues start kicking off at each other over something petty and I'm, as you say, trying to pretend I'm not there while thinking 'FFS here we go again!'

and that is shocking.

There is no debate that the manager was clearly verbally abusive to the lady, tried to intimidate her and flung baseless allegations at her. And then physically went for the man filming.

it was assault.

I hope charges are brought against him. He needs to learn basic respect to fellow human beings.

TrashyPanda · 11/05/2023 19:48

@WhereYouLeftIt - she’s seen him go into rages before and she just wants to be 100 miles away. Poor girl. Imagine having him as a manager - terrible temper, lack of impulse control and disdain for women.

Also makes sense with the trans identification, so common in young autistic females.

Really sad that's made a scene over her identity. Bet she's mortified, it was very telling that she didn't respond or join in.

RumNotRun · 11/05/2023 20:07

Ok,very late to the conversation and it has moved on somewhat...but I want a Zoot suit with my spats please.

Also, the tall person's HP name is clearly Moaning Myrtle.

Messyhair321 · 09/05/2023 07:49

Think she was, I would have felt intimidated by her. Imagine that being a man, wonder if that would have been different.

Meanwhile, for everyone who doesn't live in Back to Fronty Land...

Thanks to witnesses, we know what happened, which was that the coffee guy came out and loomed over the female customer and shouted, clapping his hands, inches from her face.

We also understand that coffee bloke has form for doing this on previous occasions.

On Planet Earth, blokes who are a foot taller than a middle aged woman don't show that they are intimidated (if indeed they are...) by going up very close to them, leaning their faces into the much shorter woman, then screaming and clapping their hands.

I mean, perhaps where you live, everything is back to front and topsy turvy, hence your interpretation of the scene as a complete reversal of the case on Planet Earth.

IcakethereforeIam · 11/05/2023 21:47

@SinnerBoy it's a long thread, I've clearly missed something....but, he's done this before?

nilsmousehammer · 11/05/2023 21:48

Now vaguely thinking about some Faraway Tree kind of set up where there can be Woke Land, and everyone there can spend their days clapping in each others faces and triple checking their language in every interaction to their hearts' content. And everyone else can just order a coffee in peace without worrying that the manager will completely lose their shit at you and attack your husband.

Ooh, where did you read that?

I think it's a pretty good bet that had she had a go at him and called him a man in a dress, with no provocation, the Police Twitter account would have been in a frenzy and she'd have been arrested.

It's as though there's a parallel legal system.

SinnerBoy · 11/05/2023 22:38

IcakethereforeIam · Today 21:47

I don't know if there's anything on the thread, but scrolling down some of the Twitter links, there are comments to the effect that he has had similar outbursts.

We lost connectivity at about 10 this morning and I didn't want to read through 20 odd pages....

IcakethereforeIam · 11/05/2023 22:44

I wonder if Starbucks has liability for their employee, especially if he has form for this type of behaviour? Or the franchise holder, I don't know how it would work.

Thank you, I'll take your word @SinnerBoy I've been trying to refind a tweet on something else, it's very frustrating.

Katherine1985 · 12/05/2023 15:01

Imagine trying to explain all that to the kids
