It’s not clear what the customer said, it’s presumed she misgenders the employee as he calls her transphobic. He calls her Karen and then either grabs the phone or the person who’s filming.

I see them both as women. I don't know what the argument was about.

You want to get to Specsavers, then!

DarkDayforMN · 08/05/2023 21:40

I wonder what you have to do to your eyes or your brain to see two women in that video. There's nothing to indicate that this man identifies as a woman apart from him shouting loudly about "transphobia" in his male voice.

I'm actually impressed by the degree to which pp claims to have brainwashed themself.

Weel done to Starbucks for sacking the very very rude trans person. Clapping hands in the face of that poor lady was just dreadful. So rude to her. Thank goodness common sense is starting to prevail. Women suffer at the hands of men and trans people all the time and this is just another stage of all that. Many trans people have mental health issues. This particular one clearly should not be in a customer service role.

Soapyspuds · 08/05/2023 21:55

Misgendered? You would think she tried to punch it in the face based on that meltdown.

Fuck me. I feel sorry for the next company to that employ that cretin.

Mermaids have a new acting CEO, Jackie Green has said on camera that Susie was ‘fired’.
Charity Commission investigation still ongoing.

Susie Green now works for GenderGP.

Thanks @NicCageisnotNickCave

Two women having a misunderstanding

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Amazing that people can go through the education system, probably study this book, and are STILL capable of being suckered into this bullshit where they’re instructed to ignore the evidence of their eyes and ears and they convince themselves not only that it’s true, but that they like it!! Mindblowing.

MamaNewtNewt · 08/05/2023 22:02

@hotdiggetydog but the Starbucks employee didn't say that they are a woman (as far as I know), they are very obviously male, and you have stated that the only way you would think they were a woman is if they stated that themselves, so why on earth do you see two women?

Do you really not see how nonsensical it is to just accept that someone is what they say they are, regardless of any empirical evidence?

If the Starbucks employee said they were a banana, or an alien, or something equally ridiculous and clearly untrue, would you suddenly see a woman and a banana, or a woman and an alien?

Did @hotdiggetydog misgender that person? 😱

I see them both as women. I don't know what the argument was about.

Yo diggety!

One of these people is a male person who apparently identifies as non binary.

One of them is a female person and we don't know how she/he/they identifies, but given the context I'm going to take a wild guess it's not as a "cis woman".

So, by your rules, neither is a woman.

Please educate yourself and do better next time!

DarkDayforMN · 08/05/2023 22:04

ooh, here's another conundrum - how does the person who claims to "see two women" know that the person shouting about transphobia isn't a trans man?

DarkDayforMN · 08/05/2023 22:07

actually sorry they can't be a trans man, but they could be a transmasculine nonbinary since they've verbally rejected the label of "man."

What is it about them that made them appear transfeminine to that poster?

How very transphobic of you! There is one woman and one it/ they /them/nb/thing. Go and think about how transphobic your assumptions are.

One matter is me making a mistake and then there's you labelling a non binary person as an "it" or a "thing"

Your language is absolutely disgusting and your prejudices shine right through.

PriamFarrl · 08/05/2023 22:14

Hmmm. All we know is that the employee is accusing the customer of being transphobic and wants them to leave because of that.
That doesn’t mean that the employee is themselves trans. It means that they didn’t like something said by the customer. The customer could have said something offensive about trans people and the employee didn’t like that.

SBHon · 08/05/2023 22:14

SidewaysOtter · 08/05/2023 21:52

I could not give less of a shiny shit how he’d like to be referred to as. That’s clearly a man. There are only men and women.

You can refer to them as anything you like. I was just pointing out that the gesture to the earrings had been misinterpreted by you.

viques · 08/05/2023 22:19

DerekFaker · 08/05/2023 18:43

What would these characters do if they were faced with an elderly person or someone with a learning disability or a partially impaired person? Are they going to thump them for 'misgendering' them as well?

Quite possibly yes. It's happened before, for women having the temerity to go to a meeting.

The 60 year old woman assaulted at Hyde Park Corner springs to mind.

I've just seen the clip on the news and he has been fired by Starbucks. Dreadful way to treat a customer.

Surely that’s the point of Orwell’s writing. To showcase the absurdity of human behaviours
