Caroline has just posted on twitter that the police were trying to force entry - WTF going on?

Three officers saying she has to go with them.

Three.

Stella Creasy from 4 years ago when a mum asked her about her daughter being flashed at by a male student:

and i share that concern - as i said at start happy to help if you are local or to put your local MP in touch with groups and working with on peer to peer assault in schools? that includes help accessing counselling for your daughter?

Creasy is too deep in the ideology to ever admit she was wrong. It'll be a mix of spinning her past position into something better and claiming she was misled.

Why doesn't it hold - if we don't know what it is this time, we can't judge if the police have acted rightly or wrongly.

The comparison with other calls to police, such as suicide and DV cases, is to show that we need to look at each call on its merits - as we just don't know what that call could result in.

So this latest call reporting something against Caroline, needs to be looked at
The next call regarding the repeat suicide caller, needs to be looked
The next call from the DV victim, needs to be looked at

Or are you suggesting something different - maybe after 5 calls we ignore them? Join the dots as people are suggesting?

(and that's not a pun and an apostrophe is punctuation)

Pun - a joke exploiting the different possible meanings of a word or the fact that there are words which sound alike but have different meanings.

One aspect of grammar is “punctuation”, which relates to the symbols used to add meaning to sentences. Many grammatical rules cannot be followed without punctuation; therefore, it does form part of “grammar.” - The Cambridge Dictionary

👋
The whataboutery is thick enough to cut with a spoon! I would have thought that the geographical location of the complainant, in relation to the person being complained about, might have some bearing on how the risk is assessed.

TrainedByCats · 03/05/2023 14:02

Since part of the thread has moved on to the meaning of words I was wondering do we have a word yet for men taking over online forum discussions? I can’t help thinking we must by now as it’s so prevalent but I can’t think what it is.

We’ve got manspreading for the way they take over our spaces on transport even though it is clear the woman does not want them in her space. We clearly need a word for that online. It’s not exactly mansplaining although thats happening here too.

IcakethereforeIam · 03/05/2023 14:05

Mansposting?

TrainedByCats · 03/05/2023 14:17

Manscolding

IcakethereforeIam · 03/05/2023 14:31

@TrainedByCats 👍 much better.

Felix125 · 03/05/2023 14:33

So it OK for Datun to criticise me about grammar on this thread - but I can't criticise Datun

Yes - there is a word for that

It indeed might do.

But we don't know who the complainant is on this occasion and what the complaint is about.

Sevenbells · 03/05/2023 14:35

Dickposting? Like shitposting but men-only?

Oh I must have missed you saying that previously......

I may have missed it, but is there a post telling you you can't criticise datun?

I mean people can criticise who they like when they like where they like on here.

Why anyone would would actually want to criticise @Datun is beyond me, but each to their own.

That's why they repeat it, in case you missed the first eleventy billion times.

Indeed, how kind they are, they obviously think that we are hard of thinking.

Felix125 · 03/05/2023 14:42

So why keep throwing the same argument back....?

OldCrone · 03/05/2023 14:58

Felix125 · 03/05/2023 14:42

So why keep throwing the same argument back....?

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

HTH.

Felix125 · 03/05/2023 15:06

I agree - which is why I think its insane for people to keep throwing the same argument back at me over & over again and expect a different result.

anyolddinosaur · 03/05/2023 15:06

@FGCPC Still waiting for an explanation of why the police take accusations against women so seriously when violence by women against men is rare but dont take threats of rape and violence against women seriously when one woman is murdered every 3 days in the uk. Any other explanation than mysogyny?

Felix125 · 03/05/2023 15:09

I could answer but I will probably get told off by people on here
You could PM me or start a new thread.

Felix125 · 03/05/2023 14:42

So why keep throwing the same argument back....?

You made the point about domestic violence calls, or suicide threats, both of those rather need the alleged "perpetrator " to be quite close by. That was your point about why repeat allegations need to be followed up, what if the caller is in another force area and reporting someone saying things on line? Do you believe that those require in person follow up, or maybe you could look at the online content?

OldCrone · 03/05/2023 15:12

Felix125 · 03/05/2023 15:06

You mean people keep throwing the same argument back at you after you keep repeating the same thing over and over?

Are you expecting something different from them every time you repeat yourself?

Boiledbeetle · 03/05/2023 15:18

Have you actually read anything about this case other than on here yet Felix??

If the answer is still no, then we still aren't interested in your opinion.

If the answer is yes then at this point the above probably still applies for most readers.

Dumbo12 · 03/05/2023 14:36

Oh I must have missed you saying that previously......

I do hope our resident police officer has set up a macro for this oft repeated line otherwise he's at high risk of developing RSI I would have thought.
