Caroline has just posted on twitter that the police were trying to force entry - WTF going on?

Three officers saying she has to go with them.

Three.

That is rather laughable. Having gone through what she has because she said what she did now she's calling for harsher punishments on those who make nasty social services referrals.

I understand her motivation. But I feel having seen how the police are being weaponised expecting them to police this fairly is perhaps optimistic.

Children are incredibly vulnerable. We don't want people punished for raising concerns for their safety. Absolutely no one should be worried to report the abuse of children in case it gets them in trouble with the police.

I’m getting strong ‘male neighbour offering unsolicited parking and DIY advice’ energy.

'You don't want to do thaaat'.

Didn't Stella Creasey call an assault by a male teen on a female teen in a female space 'peer on peer' rather than 'male on female' violence, on this very forum?

TO THE MOTHER OF THE FEMALE?

Ourladycheesusedatum · 03/05/2023 09:06

Most of you on here know that flashing etc are gateway crimes. The police are quite late to that in my view

Since when? I'm certain (but have no time this week to check) that the police have known about escalation in things like this since at least the 70s. They've just chosen to ignore it.

The Yorkshire ripper comes to mind, they may not have called it a "gateway " but they certainly implied it.

Felix125 · 03/05/2023 09:20

They have always been seen as gateway crimes - for as long as I have been in the job.

Also things like stealing clothes from washing lines - underwear etc

And they should be investigated properly to identify a suspect

The problem is - the punishment from the courts will only be minor compared to what punishment will be for the future more serious crime.

I must go back and have another read of that web chat. IIRC it was infuriatingly obtuse on her part.

Answer the question then - since you are calling me it
And what is sarcastic about my last response?

Wow who else can hear the belligerent aggressive male voice as you read the words

Well - 'thedancingbear' is calling misogynistic - which is not a very nice thing to call someone.

I would like to know what they are using to base this on?

I am OK to call 'thedancingbear' a racist?

This was the MN webchat Creasy did with Caroline Nokes last Feb.

First question was about the harassment and intimidation of Rosie Duffield - which is still ongoing including by Labour Party members.

Both Creasy and Nokes were/are very 'ivory tower' about other women in the RL. I wonder if Creasy is starting to get it yet that the real world consequences for women of encouraging the police to take ideological sides, and skew their crime matrices and ongoing training accordingly, is a terrible idea?

If you're going to criticise my spelling - then look at your grammer.
The word "don't" has an apostrophe

It's grammar

EveryWitchWaybutLoose · 03/05/2023 10:57

And wasn't it Stella Creasy who told a mother that her daughter shouldn't stare at other "girl's" genitals when a boy was allowed in the girl's changing room at school?

Something like that.

None of er outrageous hypocrisy justifies the harassment by a troll, reporting her to Social Services, but maybe now she knows what other women with opinions are put through.

AutumnCrow · 03/05/2023 11:01

Of interest (to me at any rate) is that Stella Creasy's dissatisfaction is with the Leicestershire Constabulary.

Leicestershire's elected Police & Crime Commissioner, Rupert Matthews (Con), is one of the dozen or so who publicly backed Lisa Townsend when she stood up to Stonewall's infiltration of the police and police training.

While I do find her hypocritical, I do hope that her eyes have now been opened to the consequences for women in RL of the politicised policing culture which she herself promulgates; and that she can take her personal example to a high level in the spirit of, 'if this can happen to me, what on earth must be happening to lots of other women??!'

I know it is - it was a pun

Thelnebriati · 03/05/2023 11:59

I don't think Stella is able to make the intuitive leap between the way she has been treated and the way other women have been treated, she just sees two separate issues.
And its pointless trying to explain it to her. Like so many other women she posts on SM but doesn't engage with us.

I do find it hard to believe sometimes that she went to Cambridge and has a PhD from LSE. The woman wouldn't know a deductive paradigm shift if it jumped out in front of her.

Yes, I hope she's getting some perspective about all this.

DerekFaker · 03/05/2023 12:56

Comparing repeat calls is not disingenuous - if we have a person claiming suicide and it turns out that they are just messing about and not suicidal at all. And they do this over & over again - at what point do the police ignore the call. Because on the 10th time, that person actually does it - do you think the police will be criticised for not attending?

Comparing suicide threats and domestic violence to hurty words on the Internet IS disingenuous. They are apples and oranges

And before you start with the "We don't know what it was this time" - we know what it was the previous times. And if this time it's something different, your comparison doesn't hold at all.

Bloody hell...

DerekFaker · 03/05/2023 12:59

Re: Stella Creasy. Unfortunately I doubt it. In people like Stella's world everyone is divided into goodies and baddies, the most marginalised ever vs the world.
