My boycott list is huge.
There are going to be no brands left at this rate.

Sorry, stray pronoun - 'It will be' not 'It will he'.

Phone, fat fingers.

Datun · 19/05/2023 16:08

God that is outrageous.

They are holding Anheuser-Busch to ransom over a loss on their own sales!!

I want to say who the fuck do they think they are. But bloody hell they must be very sure of their power.

I really hope it backfires. Nobody should be able to blackmail a company into losing sales for fuck's sake.

Datun · 19/05/2023 16:08

And again. This is exactly why Trump will get in.

Lest we forget, Dylan is the real victim here.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12248203/Dylan-Mulvaney-breaks-silence-Bud-Light-chokes-tears-torches-brand.html

I could actually feel sorry, I don't think Dylan did anything worse than Dylan's usual shtick (which is why I can't really sympathise). I think there was a lot of homophobia and actual honest to goodness transphobia in the backlash.

Seems the two people at Bud who were on leave have now been fired.

I don't think blond suits, but suits do. Gender ambiguity looks much better than faux femininity.

Dylan Mulvaney breaks her silence on $20 billion Bud Light fiasco

The 26-year-old posted a video on Instagram addressing the debacle, which has seen Anheuser-Busch lose $20million in market cap value since the advert for March Madness.

Just a very genuine question, as I have seen a lot of hate towards this person.

What is it that everyone is upset about?

I think I'm too laid back to care about these things but I'm wanting to be educated here. Thank you!

Haven't RTFT so this has probably been replied to. But impersonating a member of a disadvantaged group and acting out stereotypes attached to that group is insulting and harmful. (DM's days of girlhood - crying uncontrollably, fear of insects, going into debt buying dresses, writing emotional emails and not sending them. Also his Nike ads showing him clumsily and 'cutely' prancing around in women's sportswear.) See blackface.

Hagosaurus · 30/06/2023 14:11

snoopyscarpy if a man did the stupid things Dylan does, saying he was imitating a woman because those are the sort of stupid things that women do then everybody would understand that women feel insulted. Oh, wait…..

Welcome to womanhood Dylan where women are judged on their appearance, life choices, over the years being bought and sold like cattle (some still are to this day), endure FGM, denied access to education, had to fight for the right to vote, in some US states are still fighting for rights over their bodies, still fighting for equal pay just about everywhere, will most likely get sexually abuse and/or sexual comments hurled at them from men they do not know whilst walking down the street or using public transport etc.

This is all part of 'being a girl' - welcome to the club, dry your eyes and toughen up. Compare your struggle to the women in Iran, Africa, America etc and get some perspective.

p.s. as a hint some of the backlash is probably based upon your ever so slightly misogynistic and stereotyping of 'women' which is incorrect and one we have worked hard to move on from.

I dont believe he is trans at all. He's a fame hungry young man desperate for attention. He does nothing to further the cause of genuine trans women with his little girl cos play.

i'm not really sure he's really that smart. i don't even think he's intentionally trying to insult women, it's just that he gets off from gets a high from doing his act, and people are paying him to do it.

BabyStopCryin · 14/10/2023 11:15

Look at Russel brand - he seemed to have been just a bloke who did stand up, playing up on his ‘whacky persona’ (with addictions?) and got picked up and given tv shows, live gigs… pandered to and encouraged to ‘be himself’. It’s the whole celebrity circus.

Same with this one. Bet he can’t believe his luck. Until he isn’t flavour of the month and noone will touch him with a bargepole. Or give him awards and $$$ for ‘speaking events’ (on what exactly I can’t quite tell).

EtiennePalmiere · 16/10/2023 10:52

For me it's because Dylan is taking away paid opportunities from women. Modelling is the only field where woman are paid on average more than men, and now the men are trying to get a piece of that, it really rankles.

MargotBamborough · 16/10/2023 11:03

@EtiennePalmiere I don't care much about the fact that Dylan is modelling. Dylan is entitled to do paid work for any brand which thinks that association would be good for them.

What I really dislike is the way Dylan portrays women, this idea that women are vapid, simpering idiots in crop tops, and the way that Dylan is being taken seriously by people in positions of power.

If you want to get a useful perspective on what it's like to be a girl, President Biden, why don't you talk to an actual girl? Because Dylan Mulvaney is a rich white male. Not unlike you, in fact.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 24/04/2023 08:08

And if he was acting as the man he is, whilst wearing makeup, I would have no issue. It's that he's mocking women whilst doing it that I take offence too.

Well put!! Agree 💯%

Oh good point, I hadn't considered this!

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 16/10/2023 12:59

Why is it always Dylan , though? Seems to have a monopoly on the TW market.
Other ‘Young Girl models ‘ are available

whirlingdevonish · 09/02/2024 10:23

@Allthegoodnamesarechosen <splutter> 😂
