I don't care that He wears Make up -why shouldn't men wear make up or dresses or heels?

But - the way he puts it on, squealing, flailing and kicking his legs about, is a MAN putting on make up. No woman has ever kicked her heels up and squealed like a 6yo when she puts on make up. He thinks that's how woman behave all the time. Even when doing sports or exercise.

So -guys, that;'s what you are like. Putting on make up like a Man Hmm. Doing exercise like a Man. Squealing and prancing. lol.
Woman are not like that.

Really, too bad feminism really is dead and buried amongst younger women.

If they genuinely believe DM is a role model for them, that's very sad.

Time for Gen Alpha to grow up, mock their older Gen X siblings, join up with older women (and men) who are royally pissed off with this malarkey.

Can woke capitalism survive on the purchasing power of the 18-35 cohort if their brains stay addled in years to come?

We don't know that young women see Dylan as a 'role model'. There is some evidence to suggest Dylan is a role model for anorexics, unfortunately. Theys name has been attached to various 'thinspo' posts.

I've found some of Dylan's posts mildly amusing. Theys a vaguely feelgood, fluffy, comedian, I guess.

Of course many women will note the undercurrents of sexism and offensive stereotypes and bristle at that. But I guess plenty of others see the superficial daft hiya type of schtick and enjoy it.

And a kind of feedback loop can be created by the use of the products themselves, so in a way we can say that as Dylan is marketing the products, the products are also marketing Dylan.

@Datun please look at some of the phrases used on this thread alone about DM before you clutch your pearls too tightly about the phraseology used by those disagreeing with you.

Maybe also have a look at what kind of people agree with you on this issue as well. You are who you align yourself with. The protest in Melbourne attracted actual Nazis and now you have gun toting macho men blowing things up in agreement with you.

But DM wore a sports bra, felt good in it, and became one of ~literally millions ~ of people acting over the top to get hits on social media, so I guess that's the thing that will bring society down.

OMG phraseology, literal violence. Actual Nazis. Much fash.

And all hotfoot on the tail of frothing, don't forget!

People have always used beer cans for target practice , especially in America. Now they are using these one , because they don’t like it, and think that it has a un beer like brand personality. It’s not some previously unheard off practice, especially derived to threaten the alphabet people.

Wikipedia says ‘ Plinking refers to informal target shooting done for pleasure, typically at non-standard targets such as tin cans, logs, bottles, or any other homemade or naturally occurring target.[1]
Practice[edit]In contrast to shooting done at established target ranges, plinking is generally done at home, in an open field, or other private land for no fee. The term plinking is an onomatopoeia of the sharp, metallic sound (or "plink") that a projectile makes when hitting a metal target such as a tin can.’

Ping!

MenopausalMe · 24/04/2023 16:35

If Maybelline and others want to advertise to the Trans/Drag market they have probably got the right face. Personally I find the dude and his parody of feminine behaviour offensive and the Tampax association 🤢 so I assume they aren’t pitching their products at me and I won’t be buying, everyone is free to make up their own mind.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 24/04/2023 08:52

Dylan takes the piss out of women ânsia laughing all the way to the bank on the back of it.

Wearing make up isn’t gender specific. Why not just have a bloke happy to be a bloke advertise it 🤷🏻‍♀️

This

If they really want to subscribe to the "make up is for all genders " they would have a biological man who identifies as just that

Otherwise it's just jumping on the predictable band wagon

Only 10% of teenage girls do sufficient exercise. Seeing him prancing round in sports bra and leggings promotes a body image (no curves or bust) that most young women won't meet.

A Sports bra should prevent excessive bounce - hardly needed when he's got no bust!

They should promote women's sports wear by showing females doing sport, not some attention seeking bloke. The fact they ditched sponsoring female athletes that got pregnant tells you everything you need to know about the misogynistic attitudes of these companies.

Perhaps it could be fashioned into a jock strap? Us girls do love a clothing item that's multi purpose

The second MAC one doesn't bother me as much - just putting make up on. The Maybelline one and the Nike one where he parodies women and makes it seem like women are uncoordinated and in this make up one giddy fools - is what irritates me. I mean he is riding the wave - and getting rich so he will keep doing this.

ApocalipstickNow · 24/04/2023 17:44

Mulvaney wear make up so seems a reasonable choice right now (as he’s flavour of the month) to advertise it.

There’s loads of idiots advertising stuff, idiots with lots of questionable (at best) views. This seems no different.

Make up seems a good fit. Make up is for anyone who wants it, really.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 24/04/2023 17:47

I don't like him but have no issues with men wearing or advertising make-up.

Delphinium20 · 24/04/2023 18:08

None of my DDs (13,18) nor their friends can stand Dylan. They think he's mocking them. They watch him and talk about how cringe he is.

Datun · 24/04/2023 18:38

"I try to be, for the LGBT community, the adult in the room. She is not. She is bouncing around all over the place. I have nothing in common with her" she elaborated to the Post

Ah. That explains why Jenner pontificates on in the most tedious way imaginable. They imagine they're the adult.

And course the biggest thing about Jenner and the biggest thing about Mulvaney is what they both have in common!

Their misogynistic use of trans ideology to claim that woman is a costume.

Honestly, the delusion is blinding if Jenner thinks they have nothing in common with Mulvaney 🙄

DOBARDAN · 24/04/2023 18:40

The only product I would buy which had DM's face plastered all over it would be toilet paper.

ArabeIIaScott · 24/04/2023 19:00

So the difference between Jenner and Mulvaney is gravitas. Okay.

Lennybenny · 24/04/2023 19:11

He has had no gender reassignment surgery,
He doesn't take hormone replacement.
He doesn't do laser removal by the state of his top lip all the time.
He play acts being female.
Womanface fits him.

His version of make up and clothes is a 1950s stereotype. This happens a lot with m2f trans. Their idea of women is short skirts and heels and looking like a slapper.

Why is this the case in at least some cases?

Surely most of them have grown up with women in their families (mothers, say, and even sisters), so they should be aware that the vast majority of women don't squeal and skip and grin manically all day long or that they don't go out into nature in high heels and wearing leather bikinis or that they don't panic when seeing a bug and then trip over and end up lying exhausted in the grass?

And where does the fairly common idea come from that living as a woman means being pornified in dress and behaviour all day long?

Probably from porn? But then, once again, how about observing women in the real world, to fix that misunderstanding.

Also, why doesn't identifying as a woman more often mean to identify with getting the groceries, cooking the meals, cleaning the house, wiping the noses and the bottoms etc? The actual boring stereotypes which are attached to the female sex.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/04/2023 19:32

Are they planning a new product? Penis - maybe he’s born with it….

Haha!!

IKR?

Honestly. Someone is playing fucking trick making men rule the world. They're simply not capable.

JaninaDuszejko · 24/04/2023 20:22

Look I am as GC as they come but Dylan has every right to make money by advertising and TBH Maybelline seems a good brand match. I'm not buying makeup so there's no point advertising to me. I can see the match with Bud Light as well, they are trying to increase their market base and reported short term protests only adds to the advertising reach. Bet they end up making more money long term because of the ads.

Nike is a completely different case because of the issues in America and the UK with the health implications of women dropping sport at a young age and the fact that Dylan has no mammary glands and the way Nike has previously treated pregnant sports stars. It feels like yet another slap in the face from corporate America.

BluebellBlueballs · 24/04/2023 20:45

I'm not transphobic, but I'm.in possible danger of becoming mulvaney-phobic, he/she/they (appeasing mn censors) is just awful

moonspiral · 24/04/2023 08:10

How is the MAC ad mocking women?

He simpers. He.shrugs in an exaggerated girlie way which looks ludicrous..Make up ads used to promote a glam look; now they promote the idea that women are silly and fluffy headed and on the plain side.
Why would that appeal to women?

.

AutumnCrow · 25/04/2023 02:29

Women! Do you look like Dylan Mulvaney?! Buy and wear all this make up and you’ll look like Dylan Mulvaney pretending he’s a 12 year old girl pretending to be Audrey Hepburn!! Worth every dime. Possibly. Or not.
