This is the case where Mermaids challenged the Charity Commission's decision to give charitable status to the LGBA.

Don't have any more detail at the moment, but thought you'd all be interested. It's been a four month wait already.

Absolutely ridiculous why this wasn't simply thrown out ages ago. As if Mermaids has the right to speak for LGB people and insist they add the T. Infuriating that we have had to donate to help fund LGB Alliance.
And Green is now working for 'Gender GP' apparently.

TheBiologyStupid · 18/04/2023 11:42

Thanks for the heads up, Corgi.

ShortSilence · 18/04/2023 11:43

Definitely interested, thank you OP.

Thanks

PorcelinaV · 18/04/2023 11:54

One charity doesn't like the position of a different charity? Why not de-list Mermaids instead then?

pickledandpuzzled · 18/04/2023 11:56

Waiting...

Pootlie · 18/04/2023 11:57

Good to know. Has to be the right outcome. mermaids are imploding as it is.

Thanks for posting

Lols. Isn't the LGB alliance, mostly full of straight people membership?

Shall indeed be an interesting decision. Many suggest they are not what they seem, but I doubt that will be provable at the tribunal.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 18/04/2023 12:28

Lol Mishy you keep on saying that and as usual have no evidence. Lol eh

DerekFaker · 18/04/2023 12:32

Thanks OP.

I would hope the Judgement doesn't take into account unproven conspiracy theories.

GrimDamnFanjo · 18/04/2023 12:33

Was wondering where this had got to!

Nope. You must be confusing them with another org, Mish?

No it isn't.

HTH.

Hoardasurass · 18/04/2023 12:37

Ooh it's going to be interesting on twitter whatever the outcome but I expect a massive tantrum if the ruling is for the lgb alliance

The charity status of LGB-Alliance was opposed by over 50 LGBT orgs IIRC?

It's not just Mermaids.

DerekFaker · 18/04/2023 12:39

Mermaids are the ones who have taken it to court. The prior petitioning failed.
