I saw that. I'm actually really surprised by her stance, for some reason I thought she was not unintelligent.

She's one of those who needs to be personally affected to fully peak.
I think she has 2 steps left on her journey:

• being pulled up on calling tw men and
• personally meeting tw who are not in cute mode.

By the time she gets to this, she'd have painted herself into such a tight corner that she won't be able to speak her mind.

She has already been pulled up by the TRAs because she is calling TW men who want to become women. She is twisting herself in knots. It’s a bit difficult to watch.

She also thinks there is a compromise to be had as if no one in the history of this debate had ever thought of third spaces only to realise that is not good enough for those that want to use women’s spaces to affirm themselves. She hasn’t gone the final way to the top yet. She’s on her way.

I don’t think she is a deep thinker. She has waded into these waters before and gets confused by the circular logic of trying to define a women in non biological terms. She is not an ally and her arguments come from an incredible place of privilege, which she doesn’t recognise or admit.

Maybe what'll open her eyes is realising it's not the space that TRAs want males to have open access to, for what we euphemistically call 'validation' - it's access to the proximity of women and girls.

Allsopp is right wing. Funny, I thought TERFS were all right wing, while the righteous woke lefties were the supporters of trans'women'.

I dont think she can be called a TRA she agrees that biological sex is important. She agrees that sports and safe spaces should be segregated based on biology.
She just objects to the pile on of individual trans people.

When i read her tweets, i had the impression that she didnt believe men could be female, or to be a woman was a performance.

I read it as her wanting to indulge men. She believes that we can call men 'she' while winking, and when it matters we can exclude these men?

If that's true, what she is saying as the we should all go along with the pretence, but the other important people get to decide when and how it stops.

If women complain about how transitioning mocks women, we are told that's not true. We give examples, we are targeting individuals, when we talk in general terms, we are told we a told we are misinterpreting the process.

I dont know how women can prove the misogyny if we are stopped from proving it.

I was disappointed how ignorant and unintelligent she seems. She has the stance of a teenager who doesn’t quite know how to argue her point properly as she still isn’t sure of herself. For some reason I assumed she would be more articulate and clever.

Im so bored of people wading into this without having given women at least the courtesy of doing even a tiny little bit of research to understand why it’s such an issue instead of assuming we’re too stupid or meeeaaann to have come up with a compromise position

there's nothing I find at all offensive about a gender non-confirming gay man endorsing beer, even if the ad includes a fraudulent subtext that he's a 'girl' or whatever.

but a very thick line was crossed when he was used to endorse women's sporting goods, against a backdrop of vanishingly low female participation rates in sport etc.

I should think that a distinction along these lines would whoosh many metres above Kristi's £500 Notting Hill coiffure.

I think its a blind trust in governments and policy makers, who quite frankly have got us to this position in the first place. The resistance is about questioning authority.

The medical institution have diagnosed a condition and governments have developed policy. To question any of that is to cast doubt in the institutions themselves, and our relationship with them.

Its protection of institutions as much as it is her seeing mass mocking of an individual who she sees as basically harmless.

@3WildOnes but her answers showed she clearly hadn’t. It was the usual “be kind/well no not in sport/I’m sure there’s a compromise”.

Just because people have different views, doesnt mean they haven't done any research.
That's what's patronising - assuming women who don't agree with you must just be uninformed and/or being told what to think/uneducated etc
