Boardrooms are stuffed with middle aged white men trying to justify their relevance whilst revelling in the power they hold.
Virtue marketing gives them the opportunity to self congratulate themselves on their "diverse" approach whilst simultaneously re-enforcing their misogyny and sexist tropes.
As a bonus they also get to tell women that we are "the problem" and leverage their social media to not just silence us, but actively whip up hate against us.
Any brand that does this is off my shopping list and sadly there seem to be more and brands I refuse to buy from.
Thing is I'm not just buying for me. Like many women, I'm the one making many of the household purchases.
DS needs new trainers - guess which ones won't make the cut?
I haven't bought tampax for some time now, in favour or other brands.
My DM needed a new food mixer after her 30 year old Kenwood died. She suggested a Kitchen Aid like I bought 10 years ago. I told her it was shit and to buy another Kenwood.
The list goes on and at a rough estimate I've deliberately not spent over £6k in the last 5 years with certain companies, in favour of those who don't gaslight women (possibly more when I think of M&S and food shopping).
