For those who aren’t familiar with the New Zealand media landscape, RNZ is the equivalent of the BBC. It’s a state funded public service broadcaster.

There is an interesting article on RNZ today about the real and measurable effects that ideologues like Posie Parker have on creating and intensifying hatred towards marginalised groups.

It's hardly surprising when you consider the appalling behaviour of trans people towards Posie. People here were disgusted by what they saw - why wouldn't New Zealanders feel the same?

This looks an awful lot to me like a woman being blamed for what other people have done, but with extra steps.

Does it ever occur to you that the alleged "spike" in hostility might be nothing mirw than people objecting to one of the oh-so-marginalised (lmao) chucking a couple of pints of tomato juice over a woman, an act of violent assault that most people take exception to? I'm well aware of how any criticism of trans people is spun as "hate".

Comparing a broadcaster to the BBC isn't making RNZ look good BTW. The extent of the BBC's institutional capture is well-documented on this board.

TRAs are renowned for issuing death and rape threats to women who raise their voices about legitimate concerns surrounding women’s spaces. And in NZ the mob proved themselves rabidly violent and aggressive.

Refusing to capitulate to every demand of the TQ+ community is hateful so I imagine being held accountable for glorifying actual violence has really hurt their feelings.

If you are part of a group that think its acceptable to threaten rape and violence against an oppressed group then you really can't complain when people say they don't like what you are doing. Its not rocket science 🙄

If it's researchers looking at 'real and measurable effects' as you put it, I'm confused about why I couldn't see a link to their study, with methodology and statistical analysis. Typically researchers show their work.

On a scale of 'throwing tomato soup over someone you disagree with' to 'saying something a bit mean' or 'disagreeing' I'd like to know what exactly they included.

Though agree as observed up thread the lack of a link to any data probably means that the trans community is suddenly having to face up to the fact that if you physically attack women, and cause actual images people will tell you how much they dislike you doing that.
