TRAs seem to be keeping away since organisers gained assurances from police that the women would, at last, be protected.
Lots of gay men also attending in support

Just wanting to add that another female MP has made a speech in the Victorian parliament after what has happened in Melbourne!

Well done Bev!

Excellent speech!

Empowermenomore · 09/04/2023 00:00

Is there a gathering tomorrow? Is it 13:00? I hope to make it if so.

Helleofabore · 09/04/2023 13:22

No protestors as yet. It is great to hear women speak.

SapphosRock · 09/04/2023 13:24

I'm enjoying watching this on the live stream, it's great there are no protestors and the women can be heard.

GailBlancheViola · 09/04/2023 13:48

So no digs about who might be there speaking or recording the event @SapphosRock ? Wonders will never cease.

SapphosRock · 09/04/2023 14:01

Nope. Hats off to KJK for putting on a great event.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 09/04/2023 14:06

Waits for the toxic Brighton women to rock up complaining that KJK's stood next to a tree where a fascist once sheltered from a storm proving she's a bigot...

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 09/04/2023 16:33

Huge police presence I saw multiple vans including a couple of territorial support unit ones. Just because women want to say stuff. No protesters - not so brave when there is a large police turnout.

The test will be when the universities are back in session. But the off the record comment from a police officer about "we don't want scenes like NZ" was interesting. Words have been had. The met and govt don't want that kind of embarrassment of seeing mobs batter and scream at women. And the vans suggest they are prepared to make arrests if necessary.

EmpressaurusOfCats · 09/04/2023 17:58

I saw a police horse having a nice time eating the grass.

Florissant · 09/04/2023 18:01

Fabulous news!

dapsnotplimsolls · 09/04/2023 18:20

Presumably all the TRAs were being fed roasts and easter eggs back home.

WarriorN · 09/04/2023 18:21

Sounds like a great day!

What a palate cleanser after NZ!

Aye and then when they've sated their gluttony they can start loathing their maternal support human appliances again.

Nero Complex.

I am not going to speak for Elsie, however I learn a lot about what campaigns are running, I learn different perspectives on things that are concerning others so I can appreciate their concerns better, I learn about laws and how they effect my life and others.

A lot of very knowledgeable speakers attend these events as well as speakers with unique perspectives that add to my understanding.

Do you never listen to the women speaking on YouTube?

Not much. TBH they don't really have much of substance to say. It's mostly whining and shouting with some poetry thrown in.

So no.

You obviously don’t listen to what is being said.

Thanks for being up front about it though. And for being up front about your lack of even the basic understanding of the significance of what these women are saying, the bravery to say it on record, let alone the bravery to just turn up when there are people protesting the events.

But with less farting and knob jokes...

That is very interesting. The openly woman-hating thugs in NZ may have accidentally done a lot of good. Some comfort for the injured women, I hope.

I listened enough and I participated in several of these meets. The vast majority of people agree that transgenderism is lunacy, and even those who don't, for the most part aren't violent. It really isn't that brave - or interesting for that matter - to affirm the truth that gender is immutable.

On that subject, what is factually wrong, is that it's rooted in misogyny or about erasing women. There are at least as many FTMs as there ae MTFs, and probably 3-4 times as many women agree with the statement TWAW than men. On the whole, men know the truth (violent TRAs excepted). It's women who are far more likely to be 'progressive' and believers in subjective truth rather that 'the' truth.
