Boycott New Zealand

Let's hit the state sanctioned violence against women where it hurts - in their pockets.

Off the top of my head:

Wine - Oyster Bay, Villa Maria, the Ned, Wairau Cove, Brancott Eatate, Cloudy Bay
Lamb - check the label to make sure it's British
Manuka honey and ordinary honey - M&S stock quite a few.
Wool
Allbirds shoes
Canterbury clothing.

Have I missed anything?

Also write to the PM: [email protected]
Minister for trade: [email protected]

And tell them you're boycotting and why. There's no point if they don't know you're doing it!

Maybe next time all the violent, aggressive men - right or left wing, whatever their grievances - wearing masks and black block can all go and have a right good barney elsewhere, and LET WOMEN SPEAK.

That would be nice.

Whaeanui · 29/03/2023 10:44

Great letter! I’ll be writing quite a few 😂

WomanXXWorldsOriginsofMothersofAllNations · 29/03/2023 10:44

@letterwritingwarrior excellent letter Brew

I won’t hold my breath on you getting a reply, but I hope it makes him at least think, and maybe go and see what is actually happening under his watch.

TiedUpWithABlackVelvetBand · 29/03/2023 15:26

Please keep writing to Chris Hipkins.

He is desperate to sweep this under the carpet.

No mention of the assaults on women of colour by KJK's side nor the support of Nazi.

I haven't seen or heard anything about KJK supporters assaulting women of colour; could you post some links to reports / footage of such, please?

Not sure why you are laughing.

I have no idea whether lesbians hate men or not, it's not something I discuss. I suppose it is the old tactic of derail the thread. Quite odd and childish. A bit like a 4 year old running into a room and shouting 'Bum', but with a child it can be funny.

NZ woman here. Currently feel very safe, thank you very much, as do all my female friends. Yes, we are urban, educated women, but from all sides of the political spectrum. Feel very proud that we stood by our transgender sisters, and can't help but laugh at how much this has caused the UK to froth: why are you so concerned about us? Focus on your own country, and the climate of fear in which you are living. We are absolutely fine, and proud to be leading the world in female rights again. Mumsnet does not represent the way the huge majority of my friends feel, and Posey Parker most definitely does not speak for me: the coloniser arrogance...

boycott away!

What on earth are you proud of?

Some ill-kempt bloke punching an old lady repeatedly in the face?
Screaming red faced men threatening a middle aged woman who just wants to talk with some other people who feel like her?
Breaking a womans foot because she might have wanted to hear women speak?

That is not something urban, educated women condone.

Every single one of that hateful mob went out of their way to turn up somewhere just to attack a small group of women.

The majority of women in the world do not condone men punching old ladies in the face.
If that's what you think represents the best New Zealand has to offer, it's a country that has some really big problems.

Glad you’re so proud of it @Bowlofporridge 😞

I've been asking for this for days, but none of the people attempting to "both sides" this incident appear to be able to provide any.

SinnerBoy · 30/03/2023 07:18

It's passing strange, isn't it? It almost as if they were mistaken and it didn't happen at all, or something.

KJK's team prevented women from speaking against her. Only one side is aloud to speak it seems. You continually insist you speak for all women on here. You don't. Those of us who disagree with you aren't stupid. We disagree.

A couple of goons from the neo-Nazi group Action Zealandia turned up in skull masks.

There are pictures of them floating around the protest throwing Nazi salutes at the counter-protestors.

@landOFconfusion "A couple of goons from the neo-Nazi group Action Zealandiaturned up in skull masks.

And were any of the brave counter-protesters (who were there to fight against fascism apparently) motivated to stop them or were they too busy punching old ladies in the face and screaming at lesbians? Let me guess....

You would need to ask people who were there. I live over one thousand miles away in a separate island to the recent protests.

namitynamechange · 30/03/2023 08:04

Thank you for confirming. Well, there certainly isn't any video evidence of those men being challenged that I can find. There is however masses of video evidence of women and old men being attacked, screamed at, headbutted, having liquid thrown on them. So I shall make my judgements based on that. And I think the photos you describe of young men wandering about making Nazi salutes unhindered tell their own story.

Whaeanui · 30/03/2023 08:17

@namitynamechange considering the claims neo Nazis were at Posies event in Melbourne were proven false, I’d take the claims any were in Auckland with a handful of salt. Certainly on live footage of Posie they weren’t there, they weren’t causing the violence, they were with the trans activists. Also there wasn’t a counter protest because Posie had an event, not a protest.

Stuff ran a story with the violent activist who threw soup at Posie, admitting he assaulted her and said he’d do it again. They ran it with no commentary on that position

RosaBonheur · 30/03/2023 08:17

So given that the trans activists who assaulted the women's rights campaigners were from New Zealand, and the goons doing Nazi salutes were also from New Zealand, but there is no evidence that Kellie-Jay Keen did anything other than speak about women's rights, why does the New Zealand government think this is a good look for them?

Whaeanui · 30/03/2023 08:20

why does the New Zealand government think this is a good look for them?

Who knows but they’re getting lots of media support who have the same attitude and they’re stupid enough to think media represent NZers. Who can manipulate them at least.

The only person claiming they were unhindered is you. You are literally writing fantasy fiction to justify your opinions.

There were neo-Nazis in attendance. They were outnumbered by the counter-protestors.

A group of far-right activists at the Posie Parker rally in Albert Park on Saturday. Researchers said they were part of an emerging neo-Nazi, traditional Catholic movement in this country.

Posie Parker's anti-trans rally attracted range of far-right groups

Parker distanced herself from neo-Nazis but various extreme groups turned up at her rally.

RosaBonheur · 30/03/2023 08:59

I'm so sick of all this Nazi nonsense.

If neo Nazis show up at these events, it's not because they support women's rights, it's because they hate trans people and want to cause mayhem. If trans activists didn't show up to protest against women speaking about women's rights, I can't imagine any Nazis would have bothered showing up. Does anyone seriously think they'd have turned up to support Kellie-Jay Keen and other women talking about women's spaces and women's sports? Because I do not.

Ultimately if you think believing that biological sex is real and important and that women should be allowed to have their own single sex spaces and sports is a far right position, what does that say about you? (Other than that you have clearly never read a book.)

An intelligent person would not say, "I oppose single sex spaces and sports for women because only the far right supports those things and I am left wing."

An intelligent person would be asking themselves why the hell the political left doesn't seem to think women should have those things.

And they would be asking themselves why the focus is on a few twats with Swastika tattoos who will show up anywhere there's likely to be trouble because that's their idea of a fun day out, and not on the large group of people supposedly representing the trans community, who show up to women's rights events with balaclavas and weapons to commit acts of violence against women.

If you're attempting to "both sides" this, shame on you. At what point are you going to admit you got this wrong? Or if a women's rights campaigner gets killed next time, are you going to vaguely imply that she had it coming, and then say, "Look! Nazis!"

No. If you condone that, you ARE the Nazis in this situation.

Oh come on, I'm not even a Posey fan but even the NZ Herald quotes her as denouncing neo nazis: "Parker, who describes herself as a women’s rights campaigner, has previously denounced neo-Nazis as “abhorrent”.

What you have there is a group of women gathered in a public location to talk about their experiences being shouted down and physically assaulted by a bunch of men rocking up for a bunfight. The key word there is "men".

Whether they are right wing thugs or left wing thugs makes very little difference - they are entitled men, mostly white, using their physical presence and force to control women and prevent them from speaking.

Its a great look for NZ.
