Standing for Women - NZ tour discussion. (To prevent further derailing of the thread for centring the women)

Let’s move the general discussion about the New Zealand ‘Let Women Speak’ tour out of the thread set up to centre the women speaking at the Australian and New Zealand tours.

This was the live feed.

https://www.youtube.com/live/eDuy2Kx2HlI?feature=share

The event was over run by violent trans activists. Not only did they use the usual intimidation tactics, but also threw substances at Kellie Jay, the women and the security.

After KJK had left, a woman was hit by a motorcyclist at a crossing, which was part of a motorcyclist group who were supporting KJK.

Is KJK being blamed for that?

Now this poster is making completely disrespectful comments about my whanau I have reported them. Please don’t engage with someone who does this. I speak Te Reo Maori- minus the macrons because that’s not how my grandmother learnt it at Parihaka where she was raised. This person has insulted my mother and grandmother and implied they didn’t raise me properly. What a disgrace of a person. Also bear in mind, even if I didn’t speak it, it was once banned and my grandmothers generation was beaten for speaking it so any Maori with this knowledge would never weaponise their own knowledge of Te Reo to shame other Maori. This person is pakeha. That’s why they used Maori mythology to mock me. That’s why they used our language to insult another poster they knew wouldn’t understand it. You can see Jermaine Clement cry about how his grandmother was beaten for speaking Te Reo and that’s why he didn’t learn it. It’s a painful thing for Maori so bear that in mind when you read this persons disgraceful comments.

I am sorry you have been receiving these comments on this thread.

I reported that person too.

Thank you for explaining about your language. No explanation is necessary but I am glad to have learned more about it from you.

She's a Green Party politician and transmaiden so no doubt this has been spun

Whaeanui · 25/03/2023 12:56

If anyone intentionally set out to hurt Ms Davidson that should be given proper police attention, which it will because she’s on the ‘right side’. I dislike Marama Davidson but nobody should have experienced violence there. She doesn’t share my view though. I would want proper evidence they ‘supported’ Posie first, but even then, it’s still not Posies fault.

Is a home else feeling inspired to be at the Speakers Corner Let Women Speak event at Speakers Corner in London on the 30th April now?

I have never attended one one of the events up to now. I don't really have anyone to go with as I am not openly GC due to a sensitive family situation and wouldn't take my own DC who are young teens, so if anyone wants company and strength in number please do PM me and let me know.

SmartHome · 25/03/2023 12:58

Anyone else

Because otherwise they really have shown the world that in New Zealand, women cannot speak words that some people disagree with.

Just now when I saw the abbreviation NZ my brain involuntarily saw NZ land

(gender -change supremecist, incel, zealot version)

ScrollingLeaves · 25/03/2023 13:00

NAZI land ( I had put asterisks after N and Z but they disappeared.)

Asterisks around text used to be the way to bold some type, so that's probably what happened

This is a good point.

I disagree with probably most of what she says. But I support free speech and certainly would not scream at her or throw liquid on her. She is entitled to her views.

Somehow though, I think would foresee this event turning into a fracas and would have stayed away. I realise this makes me a bit of a coward. coward. I also keep quiet on some of my views at work. I need a job.

I hear you on the job front.

But yes, Pauline is a divisive figure. However, even divisive figures can be right on a particular issue, or at least the desired outcome, they might want that outcome for a different reason though. And it is always wise to acknowledge those differences.

If someone who had a different point of view was speaking at an event, I would listen with respect and consider what they said. But generally consider what they say and the implications of it.

Now Pauline did drift into political campaigning and that was inappropriate, but considering other pollies were coming but pulled out and yet she still came and spoke while being visibly scared, I have judged her on her words this time. And she did raise some valid points. She certainly had a right to be there, I would have loved to see someone from the Greens or the ALP there to support women. But there we have it.

I see that my posts written in Te reo have been deleted by MNHQ.

It is disappointing - and more than a little frustrating - that a discussion centred around the voices of NZ women has no room for the language of te tāngata whenua.

You can erase my words … but you can not erase me.

FOJN · 25/03/2023 13:12

Looking at the tweets, from prominent women within the GC movement, today I'm starting to wonder if there has been a conspiracy of silence about how destructive a small group of soc fems have tried to be.

It feels like many have not expressed their disapproval before to avoid causing division and distracting attention from the main priority but the events of the last 24 hours have been beyond tolerance and forced them to speak.

LittleFingerStrength · 25/03/2023 13:13

raspberrywine · 25/03/2023 12:48

I am so glad JKR has retweeted some of the footage. That Maya and Helen have shown support too.

I am fucking furious at what happened in NZ. Absolutely furious with our msm for reporting this.

We have the impression that JKR isn't mad about KJK on a personal level, she never said a bad word and retreats the events. Left wing feminists could have done the same.

Helleofabore · 25/03/2023 13:17

It is generally not considered good ettiquette to write posts in a foreign language without providing a translation on a site based in one country. Particularly a language that may be open to translation errors.

Why should a site with an 'in the spirit' guideline for interaction tolerate a person doing so to insult another poster? And not all posts have been deleted. I think claiming victimhood after the posts we have seen recently is not really going to be credible.

I mean, my username is Te Reo Maori, I use it here too, MNHQ have no issue with the language itself. It’s the harassing other posters and mocking it and other peoples families that’s the issue.

I agree. I have given WPUK the benefit of the doubt on and off for quite a long while. Thinking that they were just overtly political, and perhaps misguided, but basically decent.

But for the love of God, posting cartoons like that about a woman who has been attacked is just disgusting.

They've lost the fucking plot.

SinnerBoy · 25/03/2023 13:23

I see that it's being claimed that large numbers of bikers turned up to support KJK, then ran a politician over. There doesn't seem to be any footage and if they did turn up to support her, they did a pretty poor job of it.

I suppose that the Trans Extremist Zealots will now be claiming that KJK has co-opted the Hells Angels? That famously liberal group, known for not allowing female members.

Hells Angels, Christians, Muslims, NAZIs, Jews and most of the earths population agree with KJK about the biological reality of what a woman is.

Agree with your assessment, Datun.

The whole sorry debacle has made me realise I’ll never be pure enough for the Left. Identity politics has poisoned it. The scenes from NZ, behaviour by people who think themselves ‘progressive’, has made me feel I cannot vote for a left wing party. The mob mentality is strong and ugly.

raspberrywine · 25/03/2023 13:29

It's the principle of the thing. JKR has loads of integrity.

She has also retweeted KJK directly.

MarshaBradyo · 25/03/2023 13:31

It’s so sad to see what’s going on.

It concerns me we could easily head in same direction.

Women want to speak, violence from men is the result to silence, cartoons do not focus on that. We could easily be in trouble with no voice.

I'm confused, now. Did Ruth post that cartoon? Or did Bragg post it, and she objected.
