Let’s move the general discussion about the New Zealand ‘Let Women Speak’ tour out of the thread set up to centre the women speaking at the Australian and New Zealand tours.

This was the live feed.

The event was over run by violent trans activists. Not only did they use the usual intimidation tactics, but also threw substances at Kellie Jay, the women and the security.

I saw that earlier, good for those men. I hope it goes okay and nothing nasty happens.

Don't know if there's another thread on this, but the BBC has an article about KJK in Belfast:

Counter rally planned over women’s rights event in Belfast

Great that they refer to it as a 'women's rights event'.

Counter rally planned over women’s rights event in Belfast

Police say they are liaising with the organisers of an event run by a controversial women's rights activist.

When police and law don't do their job properly and impartially, people will take the law into their own hands.

It's one of those 'be dicks to people and take advantage of them, and they will get pissed off and start responding in ways you don't like' things that many activists and politicians seem to struggle with.

FYI the Stand By Your Women group of men are not associated with let women speak or any other group although they initially shared the details I gather there is violent threats from some or something which isn’t acceptable to the women I know of. Check Ani O’Briens twitter

The BBC report has this to say:

Senator was allegedly thrown to the ground as she tried to confront Keen at a protest outside parliament in Canberra and in New Zealand she had juice thrown over her.

I wonder why they didn't mention her aggression and being bundled away by KJK's security and why it's written in a way in which it seems to imply that Lidia Thorpe had tomato juice thrown on her?

Helleofabore · 15/04/2023 06:18

Yes sinner. it was very clumsily written. And not well researched at all.

It looked like it was written by someone who never bothered to use original source content or has a bias they are writing to.

Still, as @NotTerfNorCis pointed out, they at least described the event as a women's rights event and not an

Evil Terfy Genocidal Anti Trans Protest.

Baby steps, baby steps...

That's good news. I thought he was going to get away with it.

ArabellaScott · 17/04/2023 08:23

Good!

Whaeanui · 17/04/2023 08:34

The way she pauses when talking about how women there won’t trust the police again is really sad. Kia Kaha Emily ✊🏿 sorry about your family.

Well, that's good - I wonder if he's going to be charged?
